What a game. What a team. What a journey. 💙💛

This weekend we faced Gravesend once again — a fixture that felt particularly special for us.

When we first played Gravesend last season, it was our very first ever game as a Sittingbourne Women’s team. We had just 7 of our own players, with incredible support from local clubs helping us get a side on the pitch. Gravesend took a huge lead that day, but that game was the beginning of something very special.

Fast forward to this weekend and what a difference.

13 Sittingbourne players took to the pitch, including two girls making their Sittingbourne debuts, and the progress was there for everyone to see.

Gravesend brought some seriously speedy runners who used their pace brilliantly, finding the space and making the most of every opportunity. Our two tries came through something that summed up our performance perfectly — power, drive and determination. We fought hard for every metre and never stopped pushing forward.

The scoreline might not reflect how far we’ve come, but this was a fight. Confidence is growing, players are flourishing and the drive within this team is only getting stronger.

A day to be proud of. 💙💛

What a way to start our 2026/27 season. The progress this team is making is impeccable, and today was another huge step forward.

But honestly, the best part? The smiles and laughter after the final whistle. Seeing this group enjoying their rugby, supporting each other and growing together is exactly what it’s all about.

So proud of every single person who stepped onto that pitch today. What a team. 💙💛
