🤍DAY 7 — YOUR WEEKLY SKIN RESET

A little time for your skin. A little time for you. 🤍

We’ve reached the final day of our 7-Day Skincare Information Guide, and I wanted to finish with something a little different.

Not another product.
Not another list of steps.
Just time for you.

Once a week, why not create your own little Skin Reset Ritual? Put aside 30–45 minutes where you don’t have to rush or think about everything else that needs doing.

🕯️ SET THE MOOD
Put your phone away, light a candle, play some relaxing music and make yourself your favourite drink.

🫧 CLEANSE
Start with a gentle cleanse and give your skin a fresh start.

✨ EXFOLIATE — IF YOUR SKIN NEEDS IT
A gentle exfoliation can help remove dead skin cells, but you don’t need to exfoliate every week. If your skin is sensitive or feeling irritated, simply skip this step.

🌸 MASK
Choose a mask based on what your skin needs. Feeling dry? Try something hydrating. Feeling sensitive? Choose something soothing. Or simply choose something that makes you feel pampered.

💆‍♀️ MASSAGE
Apply your favourite serum, facial oil or moisturiser and spend a few minutes gently massaging your face, jaw and neck.

💧 MOISTURISE
Finish by giving your skin the moisture and nourishment it needs.

🤍 AND THEN… RELAX.

This is the part we often forget.

Leave the bathroom. Get comfortable. Put your feet up. Enjoy your drink. Read a few pages of a book. Sit quietly.

You don’t have to be doing something every minute of the day.

This time isn’t just about your skin — it’s about giving yourself permission to slow down and enjoy a little me time.

🤍YOUR WEEKLY RESET

You don’t need a bathroom full of products.

You don’t need lots of steps.

You simply need a little consistency, a little care and some time that belongs to you.

And remember everything we’ve talked about over the last seven days:

Understand your skin.
Choose your ingredients wisely.
Hydrate and moisturise.
Look after your skin barrier.
Protect your skin.
And take time to care for yourself.

Because healthy-looking skin isn’t about perfection.

It’s about care. 🤍

Thank you for following my 7-Day Skincare Information Guide. I hope you’ve learnt something useful, discovered something new about your skin and, most importantly, been reminded to make a little more time for YOU.

Now light that candle, put your feet up and enjoy your little skin reset. 🕯️🌿

🤍DAY 6 — FACIAL MASSAGE

Turn your everyday skincare into a little facial ritual. 🤍

You don’t need fancy tools or a complicated routine to give your face a little extra love. The next time you apply your serum, facial oil or moisturiser, take a few extra minutes to massage it into your skin gently.

Not only can it feel incredibly relaxing, but gentle facial massage can temporarily help with the appearance of puffiness by encouraging fluid movement around the face.

🤍HOW TO DO IT

1. START WITH CLEAN SKIN 🫧
Make sure your face is clean and apply enough serum, oil or moisturiser so your fingers can glide easily. Never drag or pull the skin.

2. FOREHEAD 🤍
Using your fingertips, gently sweep from the centre of your forehead out towards your temples. Repeat several times.

3. CHEEKS 🤍
Starting around the sides of your nose, use gentle sweeping movements outwards towards your ears. Then repeat slightly lower down towards the jaw.

4. AROUND THE EYES 👀
This area needs a much lighter touch. Using your ring fingers, gently sweep from the inner corner underneath the eye towards the temples. You can then lightly follow the brow bone back towards the inner corner.

5. JAWLINE 🤍
Starting at the centre of your chin, gently sweep along your jawline towards your ears. Repeat slowly on both sides.

6. NECK 🤍
Use long, gentle strokes on the sides of your neck. Keep the pressure light and comfortable.

💧 WANT TO HELP DE-PUFF?

Morning puffiness is often related to temporary fluid retention. A few simple things can help:

🤍Use very light pressure — you don’t need to push hard to get the benefits of a relaxing massage.

🤍Work outwards — gentle strokes from the centre of the face towards the sides can help encourage fluid movement.

🤍Don’t forget the jaw and neck — include these areas rather than concentrating only on your cheeks.

✨ Try it in the morning — especially if you wake up feeling a little puffy.

🤍A cool facial tool can feel lovely — a chilled roller or cool spoon can provide a refreshing sensation alongside gentle massage.

🤍Stay hydrated — keeping up with your normal fluid intake is important for overall wellbeing.

And remember, facial massage isn’t a permanent fix for puffiness or a way of “detoxing” the skin. The effect is generally temporary — but that doesn’t make the ritual any less lovely. 🤍

🤍MOST IMPORTANTLY…

Be gentle.

Your face doesn’t need to be rubbed, pulled or aggressively manipulated to look its best.

Slow movements + light pressure + a little time for yourself = a beautiful skincare ritual.

So tonight, when you apply your moisturiser, don’t just put it on… massage it in. ✨

A little massage. A moment to breathe. A little extra glow.

Save this post and give it a try with your next skincare routine. 🤍

🤍DAY 5 — THE SKIN BARRIER

Your skin has its own natural protection system — but are you looking after it? 🤍

You may have heard people talking about their “skin barrier”, but what exactly does that mean?

Your skin barrier is the outermost layer of your skin. It helps protect your skin from everyday environmental stressors while helping to keep moisture in.

When it’s happy and healthy, your skin is generally better able to stay comfortable, hydrated and protected. ✨

🤍HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOUR SKIN BARRIER NEEDS SOME TLC?

Your skin may be telling you if you notice:

• Tightness or dryness
• Flaking or rough texture
• Increased sensitivity
• Redness or irritation
• Stinging when you apply products
• Products suddenly feeling much stronger than usual

⚠️ WHAT CAN DISRUPT YOUR SKIN BARRIER?

Sometimes, less really is more.

Over-exfoliating, using lots of strong active ingredients at once, harsh cleansing, very hot water and scrubbing your skin too aggressively can all leave your skin feeling unhappy.

And if your skin is already irritated, adding more products isn’t necessarily the answer.

💧 SO HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT IT?

Keep things simple.

🤍Use a gentle cleanser
💧 Keep your skin hydrated
🧴 Use a moisturiser suited to your skin
☀️ Protect your skin with SPF during the day
🤍 Give your skin time to adjust to new products
✨ Avoid constantly changing your routine

And remember what we talked about yesterday…

Hydration and moisture work together.
Hydration helps provide water to the skin, while moisturising helps reduce water loss and support the barrier.

🤍 YOUR SKIN DOESN’T NEED TO BE PERFECT.

It needs to be understood, protected and cared for.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your skin isn’t adding another product — it’s giving it a little less.

Save this post for those days when your skin just isn’t feeling quite right. 🤍

🌿 DAY 4 — HYDRATION VS MOISTURE

Do you know the difference? 💧

We often use the words hydrating and moisturising as though they mean exactly the same thing — but when it comes to skincare, they actually do two different jobs.

💧 HYDRATION = WATER

Hydration is about increasing the amount of water in your skin.

Hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and glycerin can help attract and hold water, leaving the skin feeling plumper, fresher and more comfortable.

If your skin looks dull, feels tight or has those little fine dehydration lines, it may be crying out for hydration.

🧴 MOISTURE = HELPING TO KEEP IT IN

Moisturising is about helping to reduce water loss and support your skin barrier.

Ingredients such as ceramides, oils, shea butter and squalane can help soften the skin and support that protective barrier, helping your skin hold on to its moisture.

🤍SO, CAN YOU BE OILY AND DEHYDRATED?

Absolutely!

This is one of the biggest skincare misconceptions.

You can have oily skin that is also dehydrated. Your skin may be producing plenty of oil but still not have enough water.

This is why aggressively stripping oily skin can sometimes leave it feeling uncomfortable while still looking shiny.

✨ THE PERFECT PAIR

Think of it simply:

💧 Hydration helps add water.
🧴 Moisture helps keep it in.
🤍Your skin barrier helps protect it.

For many people, healthy-looking skin benefits from both hydration and moisture, but the balance will depend on your individual skin.

And remember — skincare doesn’t have to be complicated. Understanding what your skin is asking for is often the best place to start. 🤍

Save this post so you can come back to it the next time you’re choosing your skincare.

Day 4 of my Skincare Information Guide 🤍

Tomorrow, we’ll look at another important part of getting the best from your skincare…

DAY 3 WHAT’S YOUR SKIN TYPE?

Beautiful skin starts with understanding yours. 🤍

Have you ever bought a skincare product because it worked brilliantly for someone else, only to find it doesn’t seem to do the same for you?

The reason could simply be that your skin needs something different.

Your skin type is largely determined by how much oil your skin naturally produces, and it can change over time due to hormones, age, seasons, lifestyle and other factors.

Here’s a little guide to help you understand yours:

🤍 DRY SKIN
Your skin may feel tight, rough or uncomfortable, particularly after cleansing. You may notice flaking or areas that look dull.
Think: gentle cleansing, hydration and nourishing moisturisers.

✨ OILY SKIN
Your skin tends to produce more oil and may look shiny, particularly around your forehead, nose and chin. You may also be more prone to blocked pores and breakouts.
Think: lightweight hydration and gentle, balanced skincare — stripping your skin can sometimes make things worse.

🌿 COMBINATION SKIN
You may find your T-zone is oilier while your cheeks or other areas feel drier.
Think: balance. Your whole face may not need exactly the same approach.

🌸 NORMAL / BALANCED SKIN
Your skin generally feels comfortable, isn’t excessively oily or dry, and tends to have a relatively even texture.
Think: maintaining what you’ve already got with a simple, consistent routine.

🌱 SENSITIVE SKIN
Your skin may react easily to products and can be prone to redness, stinging, burning or irritation.
Think: gentle, fragrance-free products where possible and introduce new products slowly.

BUT HERE’S SOMETHING IMPORTANT…

Your skin type isn’t the same as your skin concerns.

You can have oily skin that is dehydrated, dry skin that is breakout-prone, or sensitive skin that also has pigmentation or signs of ageing.

That’s why finding the right skincare isn’t simply about choosing products labelled “for dry skin” or “for oily skin.”

It’s about understanding what your skin is doing and what it actually needs. 🤍

And remember, your skin can change — so don’t be afraid to reassess your routine from time to time.

Save this post and have a little look at your own skin today. 🤍

If you’re unsure about your skin type or what products would suit you, feel free to ask — sometimes a little understanding can make a big difference.

Different skin. Beautiful skin.
Care for yours. ✨
