Celebrating excellence in British tennis and padel.

The LTA Awards, presented by Lexus, shine a spotlight on the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals and organisations across Great Britain.

First launched in 2015 by former LTA president Cathie Sabin OBE, these awards celebrate the passion, dedication, and hard work of some of the 20,000 volunteers, coaches, clubs, parks and officials who give their time to support and grow tennis and padel across the country.

The awards recognise the people who are making a real difference in their communities and offer an opportunity to say thank you to those inspiring others to get involved, supporting their local clubs, and helping create welcoming, accessible opportunities for everyone to play.

Entries invited for next month's Shropshire Padel County Championships at Shrewsbury's Henley Padel

The Shropshire Padel County Championships will take place for the second time next month, with entries now invited from players.

The event will be held on the indoor courts at the new Henley Padel venue at Shrewsbury's Battlefield Enterprise Park on the weekend of September 12 and 13.

Entries are invited from players across Shropshire in the open, 40+ and 50+ categories for mixed doubles, ladies' doubles and men's doubles.

The Championships proved a big hit when they were held for the first time last year at Ace Padel Club, based at the Lion Quays Resort & Spa, near Oswestry.

Tennis Shropshire chair Mark Wilson said: "It's great to be able to hold the Shropshire Padel County Championships for a second time, building on the success of last year's event at Ace Padel.

"We are hoping for more entries this year as padel continues to grow across the county. Everyone involved is looking forward to the event and it's exciting.

"It's an opportunity to move the County Championships around Shropshire to get more people playing in different parts of the county.

"It's part of our strategy to move it to different places and give as much support as we can to all clubs.

"Henley Padel is a new venue and it will be exciting for a lot of the players taking part to play at a new venue."

Henley Padel, which has been launched by Shropshire couple Luke Henley and Shey Recalde, opened its courts to players for the first time earlier this month.

Looking forward to hosting the County Championships, Luke added: "We are delighted to be able to host the Shropshire Padel County Championships for 2026 so soon after opening.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for people to see the venue. We hope to welcome lots of people for what will be a fantastic event and hope they all enjoy the experience."
