GB Senior Ball Hockey Teams

GB Senior Men’s team are pleased to confirm the first date for GB Trails ahead of Slovakia 2027 will take place at Skate Central on 27th September 2026. Attendance will be invitation only from any players who have registered their interest.

With the GB Senior Men’s World Championships firmly behind us we quickly turn our attention to building the squad for 2027. Looking to build on the success of the 2026 team, we would like to invite anyone wishing to trial for a chance to join the GB Senior Men to register as soon as possible so that we can get you added from the very first trial, dates to follow.

Your 2026 team brought back the Bronze, we will be looking to keep that momentum and create a team with a full preseason preparation and fitness behind them ready to take on the challengers and bring back that gold. Well done to our GB U18 Men’s team for making history and recording their first international win and beating Switzerland to take fifth place in the U18 world championships.

Following a review of our recent performances and the outstanding work carried out over the last 12 months, I am delighted to announce that Luke Browne has agreed to remain as Head Coach of the Great Britain Men's Ball Hockey Team for at least the next three years.

Whilst we were naturally disappointed not to achieve our ultimate goal in Ostrava and had to settle for a bronze medal, it is important to recognise the significant progress that has been made under Luke's leadership. The professionalism, structure, organisation, and performances of the team throughout the tournament demonstrated just how far this programme has come and gave the BHUK Board every confidence that Luke is the right person to continue leading us forward.

Success isn't judged on one result alone. It is about building a sustainable programme capable of competing with the very best nations in the world, and over the past year Luke has laid incredibly strong foundations for the future.

Next week, Luke, Alisdair Howie and I will meet to conduct a full review of the World Championships and begin planning the next phase of the GB Men's programme. We are committed to learning from every experience and ensuring we continue moving in the right direction.

Luke has the full backing of Ball Hockey UK, the players, and our fantastic supporters. Together, we will continue to develop this team, build on the progress we've made and strive to achieve even greater success in the years ahead.
