We’re recruiting for our three adult teams, a women’s team, and three cadet teams. If you want to play flag football and test yourself against the best in Britain and overseas, and play with some of the best flag players in the country, then you’ve found the right place.

Our first 2026/27 recruiting session starts on the astroturf in Ordsall Park on Wednesday the 16th of September at 7pm for adults. DM for more details.

Our recruitment month begins this Wednesday at 7pm at Ordsall Leisure Centre. It’s your first step on the flag journey that could take you all over the world, win you championships, and potentially get you selected for Great Britain.

Alongside our adult teams, we have one of the best cadet setups in Britain.

And we’re looking for new players.

Next month, we have two of our four youth teams playing for the National Championship having made it to the final four of their age group.

We also have a number of Great Britain players in our cadet system, who’ve grown quickly from flag novices into some of the best players in the country, overseen by hard-working, passionate and caring coaches.

We have teams at the following age groups:

U11 - Age 8 - 11
U14 - Age 11 -14
U17 - Age 14 - 17

If you have a son or a daughter who you think would benefit from organised sport, in a great environment to make friends, get fit, and play flag at a high level then just send us a DM.

And this isn’t just a sport for boys. Our cadet group is full of brilliant girls.

We have three adult teams, including one in the Premiership, and two in Division 1, alongside a women’s team and a thriving youth set up that has two teams in the 2026 National Championships in mid-September.

Our cadets teams are at U11, U14 and U17.

If you want to play an Olympic sport with great athletes and challenge yourself at the highest level of the game ,then come and get involved in the fastest growing sport in the UK.

Another season ends for the Scorpions after an epic tussle with Sheffield Giants Flag at the Premiership Regional Finals in Carlisle, a triple overtime XP shootout after one of the games of the year at any level of flag in the UK, with both teams playing some sensational football.

No turnovers on either side, a catalogue of outstanding throws and catches, and defenders making huge plays all over the field.

A game that ebbed and flowed saw Sheffield taking a late 33-27 lead only for the Scorpions offense to score a dramatic 4th down TD bomb to tie it 33 all as hit James Molyneux in the back corner of the endzone as players from other games gathered to watch the unfolding drama. A critical Sheffield XP PBU by routesbyzach sent the game to a sudden death shootout, and after both teams scored on their first two tries, Jimmy Allen won it for the Steel in heartbreaking fashion.

There are so many takeaways from the season: the integration of a raft of new players, especially on defense; the continued development of the offense; and the incredible amount of work taken on by players and especially the coaches, over the last year.

It’s why losing hurts so much.

But the team showed incredible resilience to bounce straight back after the Sheffield defeat to beat 42-17 and West Lancashire Serpents 39-19. We also know our value in the north as a team is much higher than where we finished yesterday.

But that’s a conversation for another day.

Suffice to say there’s much to build on for next season, where we fully expect to be going two steps further and pushing for that National Championship.

Congratulations to Leicester Huntsmen and on making Finals Day from the north and Norwich Nomads and Coventry Phoenix Flag American Football from the south.

Make no mistake, we will be back. Better and stronger than ever before in 2027.

🦂 Salford Scorpions Stingers 2026 Season Review 🦂

This year wasn't just about football. It was about building a culture, creating opportunities and watching people grow both on and off the field.

23 players proudly wore the pink and black this season, with an incredible 11 of them being rookies. Seeing so many new faces embrace flag football, challenge themselves and become part of the Scorpions family has been one of the biggest highlights of the year.

Every training session, every game day, every early morning and every late finish has helped shape this team into something we're incredibly proud of. The commitment, effort and willingness to improve shown by every single player has never gone unnoticed.

The Stingers have continued to prove that success isn't always measured on a scoreboard. It's measured by the friendships built, the support shown for one another, the resilience after tough moments and the smiles after great ones. Every player contributed to creating an environment where everyone felt welcome, valued and able to improve.

To the OG3 and our veterans, thank you for setting the standard and helping guide the next generation. To our rookies, thank you for trusting the process, asking questions, working hard and embracing every challenge that came your way. Watching your development throughout the season has been incredible.

As an organisation, we're continuing to grow at an exciting pace. With 40 mixed adult players now proudly representing the Scorpions banner, the future has never looked brighter. We're building something special together... and who knows, maybe there's room for another team in pink and black next season... 👀
