Hi all,

Just an update about tomorrow night.

Juniors - Sanchin, kata practice building on from last week, then pad work to finish off.

Seniors - Sanchin, walking basics, kote katae etc. Then looking kata and bunkai. Including your own practice time, we’ll be looking at ippon and nihon kumite.

See you all tomorrow.

Happy 7th birthday to us!!

7 years ago we held our first session at Hellaby and White Rose Budo was created from there.

We’ve learnt a lot in the last 7 years, and gain a lot of friends and students over that time.

While it’s our birthday, it’s also a massive thank you to all our students, families, friends and supporters for continuing to offer support, visiting, liking, sharing and helping us grow over these last 7 years.

Here’s to many more!!

Wishing Finn from our junior section a very happy 10th birthday,
from all of us at White Rose Budo!!

An instructor can open doors, but you have to walk through them.

Last weekend Sensei’s Craig and Amy, and Senpai Pete spent the weekend in London.

During the weekend they took part in 4 classes with Hanshi Akihito Yagi, working through the various kata of Gojyu Ryu and Meibukan.

It was great to catch up with friends from Meibukan Bu Jutsu Ryu Karate Do and to share the floor with them.

So much knowledge given across the 2 days, and some Meibukan kisses (bruises) obtained too, with the arm conditioning.

Now to bring all the notes back into the dojo.

Also thank you for the dancers and drummers who were part of the opening ceremony.

A big thank you to Alan Sadler for organising it, and Hanshi Yagi for the amazing teaching.

Hi all,

Juniors - Sanchin, basics focusing on hip rotation then using pads to show power. Then kata working on using the hips.

Seniors - Sanchin, walking basics, kote katae etc. Then looking at hip rotations, power generation and using the back foot.

Followed by kata.
