This week in our yoga classes, we're going to be giving a lot of attention to the shoulders, to opening them up, releasing tension and increasing mobility in these vital joints.
Flexible shoulders are important for daily living, and releasing tension in them can reduce pain and fatigue. So it's important to give them some love!
Whatever your current shoulder flexibility, these classes will be accessible for you - we work with the body you have, not to some imagined ideal!

I'm so full of gratitude right now.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who came to Treorchy Library today to help me celebrate the 10 year anniversary of my book being published, and it being added to the catalogue in the library.
My wonderful friend Elaine read sections of the book, weaved together to make a perfect narrative. I felt very emotional listening to her, to hear the care and thought she had clearly put into preparing her reading.
I shared from the conclusion of the book, as it contains lessons I still need to be reminded of to this day. I was grateful for some interesting and thought provoking questions that led to interesting discussion about life, recovery, yoga and more.
I am so thankful to everyone who made time to share this morning with me, who asked questions, sat and listened and gave me their support. Particular thanks to my writing group friends, who encouraged me to relaunch the book, and who continuously support me in my writing and my life. And to my darling brother Joe, who drove from Abergavenny to be with me this morning.
If you'd like to get your own copy of the book, I'll be at the Autumn Book Fair at Storyville Books next weekend, between 10am and 3pm on the 12th September. Or message me, and we can arrange how I can get a copy to you.

All set up and ready for the celebration of my book being in Treorchy library! So excited to see the library coding on the spine of my book!

After a day of teaching two gorgeous classes, I'm not sure I can think of a better way to wind down than sitting on my bed stroking a curled up Loki cat. She hardly ever comes onto my bed, so this is a real treat!

I'll be coming to my classes on the bus for the foreseeable future, so won't be carrying around a load of mats with me anymore. If you need to borrow a mat, please let me know when you're coming, and I'll be sure to bring one for you.
Thanks

After a restful weekend, I'm looking forward to getting out and seeing you this week for Yoga classes throughout the Rhondda. But this week, there's more!
My regular classes resume tomorrow in Treherbert Old Age Hall at 10.30, Ynys y Cwtsh - Champions for Ynyshir at midday on Tuesday, Wednesday we're at Oak Tree Hall in Treorchy at 11am, and on Thursday we're at Blaencwm Community Centre at 2.30pm.
September is Recovery Month, so to celebrate that, as I head to my 12th anniversary of my own recovery in October, I'm sharing insights into how Yoga can help as part of your recovery pathway with a series of fr*e webinars. The first one, on Tuesday, looks at my own recovery through my Yoga teacher training. You can find out more about the webinars, and book your place, here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/manage/collections/4864382/events
On Wednesday, as well as Yoga, I have two new offerings for you.
At 2.45, I'll be running a 5 week breath course, teaching you breath practices to help you calm and relax your body and mind. This is totally free, at Mental Health Matters Wales in Treorci. In the evening, I'm teaching an online Yoga class from 7-8.30pm. Both these need to be booked, find out more here https://www.tickettailor.com/events/esthernagleyogaandwellbeing
My classes are open and accessible to all, please drop me a message if you have any questions.
And on Saturday, I'm hosting my 10 year anniversary celebration of the fact that my book, Bent Back into Shape: Beating Addiction Through Yoga, is now on the shelves of the library. Come and join me for readings and a talk about how Yoga helped me find myself.
