When you stop trying to explain and just do it the way they want…

If doing it your way was already getting you the result you wanted, you probably wouldn’t have come to us in the first place.

So why hire a coach, then ask them to repeat the same approach that hasn’t worked for you?

We don’t programme the way you’ve always trained.

We don’t manage your nutrition the way you’ve always eaten.

We don’t make decisions based on what you fancy doing that week.

Because our job isn’t to validate your current approach. It’s to get you a different outcome.

There’s a reason our clients get results.

We do it our way.

Even if occasionally that means watering the grass in the rain.

20 year old me was sinking shots to 50 Cent.

33 year old me is cleaning barbells trying desperately to keep hold of my youth.

Life comes at you fast, don’t waste it!

Fitness influencers love extremes because extremes get attention.

Train harder. Never miss. No excuses. No days off.

But your body doesn’t adapt to motivational quotes. It adapts to the training you can recover from and repeat consistently.

More isn’t automatically better. Harder isn’t automatically more effective and needing an easier day doesn’t mean you lack discipline.

Good training manages stress. It balances hard sessions with easier work, recovery, adequate nutrition and enough flexibility to deal with the fact that you have a life outside the gym.

The goal isn’t to see how much training you can survive.
It’s to find the amount and quality of training you can consistently adapt to.

Because progress doesn’t come from winning one heroic week. It comes from stacking good weeks for months and years.

At GFC Athlete, we manage the training, volume, intensity and recovery around you, your goals and your life.
So the outcome is simple…. progress!

“I eat pretty well.”

Cool. How much?

How much protein? How many calories? Are you eating enough? Too much? Is it consistent Monday to Sunday or are you just guessing based on a few decent meals?

You don’t have to track food forever.

But if you’ve never tracked it, there’s a good chance you have absolutely no idea what you’re actually eating.

And if you don’t know what’s going in, stop acting confused when things don’t go how they should. If you want to train like an athlete then you have to take into account the other 23 hours of the day that make up being an athlete!

Track it. Learn from it. Then make an informed decision instead of guessing.

Your standard isn’t measured against someone else’s.

It’s measured against what you know you’re capable of.

That doesn’t mean chasing perfection in everything you do. It means not knowingly accepting less just because it’s easier, quicker or “good enough”.

Training, work, relationships, business, whatever it is.

You know when you’ve genuinely done your best and you also know when you’ve said “that’ll do.”

The more often you accept it, the easier it becomes to accept again.

Set your own standard. Then hold yourself to it.

LAP OF THE LAKES…… HERE WE GO!

This challenge is mental…… the magnitude of what Elly is just about to undertake Is hard to quite explain in words….. the swimming volume alone is crazy, but to add in the equivalent of over 3 marathons in between is just mind blowing.

If you’re not following already, then get on this and if you are, then share this as far as possible to get as much support as we can to help her get this done!

A repost or a share literally costs nothing!

If you can please donate to the Head Up charity for this event and let’s help her get over the finish line!

We’re not against GLP 1s in the fat loss world. Far from it.

Used properly, their potential is incredible.

But when professionals start hiding behind statements like this, then we’ve got a problem.

Because reducing your appetite isn’t the same as changing the behaviours that got you there in the first place.

You still need to learn how to eat well.
You still need to understand portions.
You still need to prioritise protein.
You still need to move.
You still need to train.
You still need to build habits you can actually maintain.

A GLP-1 can make fat loss easier. It can give you the breathing room to make those changes without constantly fighting hunger.

But that opportunity should be used to build a new normal.

Because if nothing changes except the medication, what happens when the medication stops?

You haven’t solved the problem. You’ve just temporarily removed one of the biggest barriers.

Use the tool. Take advantage of what it can do. But make sure your lifestyle changes too!
