When you lock in 🔒 ....
4 WEEKS OF CONSISTENCY 👏
7lbs down, but the scale doesn't tell the whole story.
These photos were taken just one month apart, and the changes are already so noticeable 🤩
No quick fixes. No extreme approach. Just consistency with training, nutrition and the plan we've put in place. 💪
This is why I always encourage my clients to take progress photos alongside tracking their weight. The scale is only one measure of progress ✨
And we're only one month in… 👀

✨ Client Spotlight ✨
My client Liam has made some incredible progress! 🤩
Liam started working with me at the beginning of this year with the goal of losing body fat, improving his confidence, and becoming more comfortable lifting weights in the gym.
Coming from a Slimming World background, one of the biggest challenges was helping Liam move away from expecting big drops on the scales every week. Instead, we shifted the focus to fuelling his body for training, maintaining a sustainable calorie deficit, tracking progress through measurements, and most importantly, how he was feeling both physically and mentally.
Alongside his gym sessions, Liam stayed consistent with fitness classes and running, which all played a part in his success.
The results speak for themselves. Although Liam had already started his weight loss journey before joining me, having a structured plan and consistent support has helped him lose an incredible 16.7kg since becoming part of Onyx Fitness! 😱👏
Now it's time for the next chapter: maintaining his fat loss, building muscle, and getting even stronger. 💪
What I'm most proud of, though, isn't just the weight he's lost, it's the confidence he's gained. Seeing Liam grow in confidence both inside and outside the gym has been just as rewarding as the physical transformation. ❤️
Massive congratulations, Liam! You've worked incredibly hard for this, and you should be so proud of yourself!
💚🖤

Why Progress Photos Matter More Than the Number on the Scale 👇
So many people let the scales decide whether they're "making progress"... but the truth is, the scales only tell you one thing: your total body weight!
They don't tell you:
✨ If you've built muscle.
✨ If you've lost body fat.
✨ If your clothes fit better.
✨ If your posture has improved.
✨ If you're looking leaner and more toned.
Your weight can fluctuate 1–3kg (or more!) from day to day due to hydration, hormones, food intake, stress, sodium, and even the time of day you weigh yourself. That doesn't mean you've gained body fat.
Progress photos tell a much bigger story.
When you compare photos taken in the same lighting, wearing similar clothing, and in the same pose every few weeks, you'll often notice changes that the scales completely miss.
💪 Smaller waist.
💪 More muscle definition.
💪 Better posture.
💪 Increased confidence.
There is around 1kg difference in my clients progress photos above BUT.... 7.5cms gone from her waist!!
Remember: Fat loss doesn't always mean weight loss. As you build muscle and lose fat, your body composition changes! Even if the number on the scales stays the same.
My advice? Take progress photos every 2–4 weeks, rather than checking the scales every day.
Your body is changing in ways that the scales simply can't measure.
Don't let one number define your progress. Celebrate the full picture. ❤️

Why is protein important you ask? 💪
Protein does much more than help build muscle.
It ...
✅ Supports muscle growth and repair
Training causes tiny amounts of muscle damage. Protein provides the building blocks (amino acids) needed to repair and strengthen your muscles.
✅ Helps maintain muscle while losing body fat
If you're in a calorie deficit, eating enough protein helps preserve lean muscle mass, making it easier to lose fat rather than muscle.
✅ Keeps you feeling fuller for longer
Protein is one of the most filling nutrients, which can help reduce snacking and make it easier to stick to your nutrition goals.
✅ Supports recovery
Getting enough protein can help your body recover from training so you're ready for your next workout.
✅ Essential for overall health
Protein is needed to produce hormones, enzymes, antibodies, and healthy skin, hair, nails, and other tissues (not just muscles).
There isn't one "best" source. Choose the foods you enjoy and can eat consistently! 🙌🏻
🎯 Aim to get in at least 30g-40g of protein per meal.
Train hard. Recover well. Eat enough protein! 🦇💚

10 years. Two photos. One very different mindset 💚
The photo on the left was me 10 years ago.
Back then, running filled me with anxiety. I never felt like I was "a runner." Every run felt uncomfortable, I doubted myself constantly, and I was far more focused on what I looked like than what my body was capable of.
Fast forward to this year... I crossed the finish line of my first ever 10K race. 🏅
This race meant so much more than a finish time!
It represented years of showing up for myself, building confidence, and learning that movement isn't about punishment...it's about celebrating what your body can do! 💪🏻🤩
Yes, my body has changed over the last decade. But the biggest transformation has been my mind.
I've gone from someone who feared running to someone who genuinely enjoys challenging herself. From believing I wasn't capable to proving to myself that I am 🥰
If you're at the beginning of your own journey, remember this:
Your starting point doesn't define your finish line! ✨
Keep showing up. Keep believing in yourself. The person you'll become is worth every step. 💚🖤
Here's to many more finish lines!!
