Today, Granby U9’s took part in a tournament and what a rollercoaster it turned out to be!

The morning definitely didn’t go our way, and going into the lunch break we found ourselves bottom of the group with just 1 point. But after that break, something changed… 🔥

The boys came back out with a completely different mentality and gave absolutely EVERYTHING for each other. 😮‍💨

They were encouraging one another, picking each other up, and hyping each other up throughout every game. The team spirit was something special to see! 🤯

🏆 WON THE FINAL ON PENALTIES! 🏆

Every single player locked in and produced their greatest performances to date. The battling, closing down, passing, teamwork and finishing were absolutely incredible. They played as a proper TEAM and fought for every ball until the very end.

To go from bottom of the group to lifting the Silver Final trophy is something none of us expected, but every single one of them earned it! 🥹👏

Our first taste of silverware as a team, and hopefully the first of many! 🏆

Honestly, shocked but incredibly proud. Well done Granby U9’s — you were absolutely brilliant today! 💪⚽

🏆 🏆 DOUBLE TROPHY DAY 🏆 🏆

This week there were two worthy winners - for two worthy reasons 🤩

Firstly, our no.10 won his award this week for displaying some sensational skill on the pitch, taking players on, turning them inside out, sitting them down, nutmegs and all! But it wasn’t just the skill that was so impressive, it was the passes being picked out after the skill, which were on point! Great football and great tekkers, well done no. 10 👏

The second trophy - which we felt was necessary this week, was handed to our no.9, as his positive attitude, sportsmanship and kindness did not go unnoticed this week and could not be overlooked, and was so well deserved! Shaking his opposing teams hands during the match, helping people back to their feet, encouraging his team mates, he showed great team spirit ❤️ He also displayed some great running with the ball at his feet! Well done no.9, keep up the great work! 💪

🏆 🏆 LAST WEEKS AND THIS WEEKS PLAYER OF THE DAY 🏆 🏆

Last week our number 5 was incredible, earning this award deservedly, listening to instruction and carrying out instructions on the pitch, with great effect!

You could see the joy in his face when he realised he could do what was asked, and since then his confidence continues to grow. His improvement has been amazing.

Even his team mates were pointing to him before I called out the person receiving the trophy, which just shows that he had a great impact and made a great impression! Well done no.5! 🤩

This weeks winner is our defensive unit, no. 3.

What can I say about this absolute diamond? She is an attentive listener, who gives 110% effort in to everything she does. She’s an absolute joy, and a deserved winner this week, showing great listening and impressive skills, as well as being a rock at the back, as always! 🙅‍♀️

She will be leaving us soon briefly, as she heads overseas, returning at Christmas! I don’t know how we will cope without our star defender 😅 she will be missed greatly! She’s even polishing the trophy 😍
