What a day for East Durham U8s! 💙⚽

We knew coming into this tournament that it was going to be a huge challenge. The lads were playing a year above their age group in an U9 tournament, against bigger, stronger and more experienced players.

But the boys didn't just compete — they excelled! 🔥

From the very first game, the team showed fantastic confidence, determination, teamwork and quality. One of the biggest positives was how well the boys rotated positions, showing their understanding of the game and willingness to work for each other.

They were outstanding both in attack and defence, creating chances, scoring goals and then working just as hard to win the ball back and protect our goal.

The biggest test came in the knockout stages…

Two huge games, two clean sheets and a fantastic defensive display from the whole team. Every player contributed, whether attacking, defending or helping their teammates.

To step up into an U9 tournament, knowing how difficult the challenge would be and then go on to win it is an incredible achievement!

Massive congratulations to every player. You should all be incredibly proud.

A huge thank you to the coaches, parents and supporters for their continued support.

Sunday and back at it for the lads!

We played an extremely high level Wallsend team but we gave it our all and gave a great account of ourselves!

The lads showed grit and determination to battle all the way through! There was some really good defending and once we found ourselves rhythm and shape we played some really good football! Wallsend gave us the biggest test to date with some exceptional football on display but we put the pressure on high and battled for each other!

Charlie making some good saves throughout and being that extra outfield player as and when we needed him! We had some good moments and good passages of the game and created multiple dangerous opportunities!

The build up play was great to see, exactly what we have been working on for weeks and we scored some great team goals! All the lads on and off the ball contributed to be able to create the scoring opportunities!

Plenty of positives to take away! Aswell as lots to learn and keep performing at a high level!
