๐ฟ What is Widow Tree?
Weโre a friendly, informal peer-support community for people who have experienced the loss of a partner.
Thereโs no pressure to tell your story or even to talk. Come for a cuppa, listen, chat, laugh, or simply spend some time with people who understand.
Itโs not therapy and nobody is here to fix anything โ itโs about connection and not having to navigate life after loss alone.
All our groups are free to attend, with no referral needed.
If youโre thinking about coming for the first time and feel nervous about walking through the door, send us a message beforehand. ๐

Could you help shape the future of Widow Tree?
In just over a year, Widow Tree has grown from an idea into a not-for-profit providing peer support after the loss of a partner, with groups across Oxfordshire and support from National Lottery and community funding.
But what matters most is the difference it can make:
โYou all helped me keep going. Iโve come through the worst nowโฆ Iโm moving away soon and, if there isnโt a branch there, Iโll try to start one.โ
Weโre now looking for a couple of new people to join our committee and help us decide what comes next โ growing our groups, reaching more people and developing Widow Tree for the future.
๐ Around 4 meetings a year
๐ No previous committee experience needed
๐ You donโt need to have been widowed
๐ Bring your ideas, skills or simply a desire to make a difference
Interested but not sure what it involves? Please message us for an informal chat โ thereโs absolutely no commitment just for asking.
๐ณ Widow Tree โ You are not alone.
Please share โ the right person might be someone you know. ๐

๐ฟ Widow Tree โ July Update ๐ฟ
July can be a month of sunshine on the outside but mixed emotions on the inside. Holidays, family gatherings and special dates can make the absence of someone we love feel even greater.
If that's you, please remember... you are not alone.
Thank you to everyone who joined us during June, supported us at local events, donated, volunteered or simply shared our message. Every act of kindness helps us continue providing free peer support for widows and widowers across Oxfordshire.
๐ Our July support groups:
๐ Thame โ Friday 10th July
The Black Horse (Side Room)
๐ Benson โ Thursday 16th July
Benson Care Home
๐ Radley โ Monthly support group at
The Bowyer Arms
Whether you've been coming for months or are thinking about attending for the very first time, you'll always receive a warm welcome. There's no pressure to speakโjust a safe space with people who truly understand.

This relaxed evening is open to all widows, widowers and anyone who has lost a partner. Whether you've attended one of our groups before, have only come once, or have never been at all, we'd love to see you. Bring a friend if it helpsโyou'll receive a very warm welcome.
We're also busy behind the scenes developing new resources, working on our next Red Robin book and continuing our journey towards becoming a registered charity so we can support even more bereaved families.
