I have worked in the family courts for the majority of my career, for over 14 years. I believe strongly in the system, largely because I know how hard the professionals within it work to ensure Justice is done.

However, I am not blind to its failings, particularly with reference to domestic abuse victims. The system can be a traumatic continuation of the abuse they have already suffered. I have worked with many women who tell me going through the family courts was the absolute worst time of their lives.

I am really interested to watch this documentary and am pleased that awareness will be raised as a result of it.

Proud, as always, to support women who desperately need their voice heard ❤️

💐Mother's Day is on 15th March this year 💐

We would really like raise funds for children staying at the Milton Keynes refuge to be able to buy a bunch of daffodils for their Mum this Mother's Day.

If you give £1 to this fundraiser that will gift one very meaningful bunch of daffodils.

The refuge is usually home to around 45 children at any given time, with 1 in 7 children in the UK currently living with domestic abuse, children are now recognised as victims of domestic abuse in their own right.

I’ve talked a lot on here about my legal background and the type of legal support I offer if you are going through a divorce or separation

Valentines Day 🤢
Any occasion shoving romance and idealistic versions of life and relationships down your throat can be a gut punch when you’re navigating your own, possibly unplanned, journey.
I’m not against it, of course, and if you are celebrating today I send you lots and lots of love for a very happy celebration ❤️

But if it’s hard…..I see you.
I’ve been there.
If this is where you find yourself this morning, please know that you are not alone with these feelings. Please also know that these feelings WILL march on.

❤️ Practice some self care - a big bubbly bath, a lovely bunch of flowers (exactly the ones YOU like!) your favourite chocolate, a warm cup of tea, have your nails done. Whatever self care means and looks like for you

❤️Connect with others - an old friend, a new friend, a trusted friend, a gym buddy, the kids, a pet. Spend time remembering there are so many wonderful and worthy relationships that don’t need to be called romantic

❤️Get some exercise - even a brisk walk will make all the difference. Get outside, go to the gym. Move your body

And always, always, always (I can’t stress this enough) seek help if you need it ❤️
