Fuelling

This is fast becoming one of my favourite breakfasts or snacks. I listened to an episode of Whats Up Docs and Professor Stella Volpe who is the head of Nutrition, Food and Exercise at Viginia Tech in the US was the guest on the episode on magnesium. She said she eats this before playing in a masters hockey game as it is the perfect balance of fats, carbs and protein.

🍞 Wholemeal bread - in my case dark rye sourdough toasted
🥜 Crunchy peanut butter- aim for as natural as possible
🍌 Slices of banana
🍯 Drizzle of honey over the top

I have found it to be perfect fuelling before a running day and it really fills me up until lunchtime, so no unnecessary snacking.

Where it all started on the top left, the day before I started my personal training qualification fresh faced in 2019!

I have come on such a journey since with so many of you and I am so grateful. My business has evolved along the way as the market changes and I'm proud of myself for adapting alongside being a mummy to 3 children. When I started I was mummy to 1!

Trust the process... Goal Setting 🗓

I set myself a goal back in March following the Burghley 7 to run a half marathon. 7 miles was the furthest I had run but it felt good.

So I asked my Garmin UK & Ireland watch to help me with my training and it designed a 16 week plan to get me running a half marathon. The plan was to run 4 times a week with a mixture of runs to get me to my target, I had to learn to trust the process and slow down on easy runs when they felt too slow.

Well today the hard work has paid off, I wanted to run a half marathon 13.1 miles (21.10km) in 2:20:00

Today I achieved the Phoenix Running Cambridgeshire Wolly Winka half marathon in 2:20:22. So proud of myself and for pushing through to achieve what in January seemed totally unrealistic. It's shown me what my body can physically and mentally do and how strong it is. I've had 3 children and started to run in my 40s and just completed a half marathon 🤯

Of course I represented KYLOE IN THE WILD the whole way and my hat was a life saver as it was a super midge filled course- let's say I ate lots of extra protein on my way round 😂 also fuelled by Precision Fuel & Hydration

This time next week I will have completed my first ever half marathon race!

Two more runs before race day and I have put in the kilometres over the past few months. I have really enjoyed being disciplined to achieve a goal, and having time for myself to just run.

Things I have used to help me;
👟My trainers have already put in the kilometres.
🦺I have purchased a new running vest which I took for a test today and its great 👍 I purchased from Amazon its made by Becojade.
