Sunday saw Jessica take on Outlaw Half Holkham as part of her build towards Ironman Wales in September – her A race for the season.

With a recent run injury still being carefully managed, the aim wasn’t to chase a result, but to use the day as a valuable race rehearsal. It was an opportunity to practise race-day routines, test nutrition, and gain confidence ahead of September.

After completing two of the three run laps, Jessica made the sensible decision to end her race early. While it meant not crossing the finish line, protecting her recovery and staying on track for Ironman Wales was always the priority. Sometimes the hardest decision is also the smartest one.

There were plenty of positives to take away from the day:
🏊 A reminder that a new pair of goggles is definitely on the shopping list!
🚴 Another reminder not to get too carried away on the bike when race mode kicks in.
βœ… A successful nutrition test.
βœ… Valuable race-day experience.
βœ… Most importantly, she’s healthy and able to continue building towards Ironman Wales.

Not every race is about the result. Sometimes success is making the decision that gives you the best chance of achieving your biggest goal. We wish Jessica the very best as she continues her preparation for Ironman Wales in September!

A good weekend of racing at the Outlaw Half Nottingham for Broxtowe Triathlon Club.

John took on the Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, while Dan completed his first ever Half Distance Triathlon today.

Great atmosphere around the course (as always at outlaw events) and good to see so many familiar faces out racing and supporting. πŸŠπŸš΄πŸƒ
