Make a Rug with Me…Part 2🐑
Once spun, it’s time to wash! 30 minutes of hand washing squeezed into 30 seconds. 5 washes were needed on this occasion to get everything clean.
A gentle detergent is used for the first two hot washes, followed by 3 rinses in hot water only.
The yarn is then hung out to dry, weighted at the bottom to straighten. Depending on the weather it can take up 48 hours, although this batch should be ready in 24 hours, thanks to the warm days and breeze.
Next up…peg looming
Part 3 coming soon 👀
Make A Rug With Me…Part 1 🐑
Just 20 seconds of video, but around an hour of spinning Texel and Mule fleeces into rug yarn.
This rug will take around 2 full bobbins to complete, so there’s still a way to go!
Next up: washing the yarn before heading to the peg loom.
Part 2 coming soon 👀

⭐️New Make⭐️
A pair of peg-loomed seat pads made using Texel and Mule fleeces and a splash of colour.
Spun in the grease, washed, naturally dried and then peg-loomed.
From getting my warping threads sorted during my lunch break at work, to peg-looming in the evening!
New Gotland rug completed.
Handspun in the grease, hand washed, naturally dried and then woven on a peg loom into a richly textured rug. Every step was done by hand and we think it captures the beautiful character and colours of the Gotland fleece.
Would you have this as a bedside rug or by the fire place?
Our latest commissioned rug created in exchange for some Texel and Mule fleeces.
The yarn was spun in the grease on our Country Spinner, then washed before being peg loomed into this lovely rug.
The golden yellow tones you can see in the wool come from areas of the fleeces that were particularly rich in lanolin.
If you have any fleeces left over from shearing that you would like to pass on, or you’re interested in having a rug made or yarn spun from your own fleece, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch for a chat.
