We are an U15 Girls football team playing in the Northumberland Football League on Saturdays and Sundays.

The girls have their first home game of the season tomorrow against Newcastle City Juniors. They will be looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat and get their season going. It’s should be a competitive game.

A decent start to the season for our Sunday team. Playing in torrential rain had an impact on the quality of the game, it was a very tight first half, 0-0 at the break.
Second half we started to move the ball around better scoring a good goal by Isla to take the lead following some good link up play down the left and a cross by Lily. We went 2-0 up from a well taken penalty by Megan and we looked in control. But well done to Heaton Stan who didn’t let their heads drop pulling a goal back with 10 mins to go and then getting the equaliser with the last kick of the game.
The girls will be disappointed with how it ended but it wasn’t a bad performance with lots of positives, we will see improvements as they get a few more matches under their belt. Well done girls 👏🏻👏🏻

Today is the start of our Sunday team’s season with a game at Heaton Stannington. The girls really enjoyed their first season playing against boys teams, so let’s hope for a positive start to this one.

Well done to Maggie, who was awarded our Alevsoftynemouth Parent’s Player of the Match against Killy this morning.
Maggie worked hard all game winning her battles and was an outlet on the left during transitions helping to get the team forward.

Well done to Killy on their win today, they deserved their victory. A few things for us to work on, but lots of improvement expected over the next few weeks as get more games under our belt.

The new season finally starts tomorrow, we start with Killy whites away, which should be a good game, as we look to start off with a positive result.
