Newport Saracens u8s football

Well done to:

Mason & Levi our trophy winners this weekend.

Both players were excellent and demonstrated superb Sarries behaviours throughout every game.

Mason lead the line brilliantly and scored a number of great goals.

Levi bossed the left side of the pitch and played in some excellent balls and also chipped in with a number of goals.

Their defensive work was equally outstanding with brilliant tracking back and last ditch defending.

Well done lads!!

Week 2 and another tremendous morning of football at Sarries towers.

Today we welcomed:

Rogerstone
Glan Llyn
Spencer Boys

All teams played with great spirit, skill and determination.

There was some excellent football played by all teams but a big shout out to the keepers today who made some absolutely sensational saves!!!

A keeper is the most difficult position on the pitch and even harder at 7 years of age. Being a keeper takes bravery, hardwork and athleticism and all keepers displayed that in abundance today.

A special word to parents again who made so much noise on the side of the pitch which really makes a difference to all the teams :)

As for Sarries.....Wow!!! They were definitely with some brilliant team work throughout all 3 games.

It was great to see them put into practise what they did on the training pitch Wednesday with some exceptional tracking back and defending.

We play away next week and looking forward to not setting up 2 pitches on a Sunday morning at 8.30am

Finally the new season has started and after what seemed like months and months of pre-season our Sarries finally played their first League game.

Today we hosted Sifil, Rogerstone and Caerleon at Sarries towers and it was a great morning of football.

All teams played some lovely football with lots of passing, great goals and excellent defending.

All parents were supportive and encouraged every team which is what grassroots is all about :)

Really proud of our Sarries today who played some outstanding football but did it with positive attitudes and supported eachother during every game.

Today was a great start for the team and will now just look to build week on week during training.

So last night saw us make the short journey back to our previous home at the Glebelands where we supported Riverside Rovers Junior Football Club under 7s in a joint training session.

It was great to see Lewis the head coach who we previously supported when he first joined Rovers last season.

It was an excellent fun session where the lads were mixed and really worked hard whilst doing it all with big smiles on their faces.

Our Sarries in attendance demonstrated brilliant behaviours where they supported, encouraged and cheered on the Rovers players during all their drills.

It was brilliant to see 2 local teams get together and am sure we will continue to build a strong relationship with Lewis and his gifted under 7s team.

We are hoping to do it again soon as Rovers prepare for their very first season of grassroots football.

Wishing Rovers under 7s all the best for the new season and you really have a great bunch of lads with a top coach.

We just wanted to say a big well done to Jaikob for all the effort he put in Sunday.

We only had 5 players meaning that we didn't have any subs so all Sarries were required to do a full shift.

Previously, Jaikob has struggled at times to be able to do a full match, however that was not the case Sunday where Jaikob participated in every one and had more touches of the ball as a result.

This will really help Jaikobs progression and we are all so proud of the improvement we are seeing week on week.

Keep up the great work and attitude Jaikob :) xx

Sunday we welcomed our friends from Blaenavon for some development with our lads.

It was a fantastic morning with great football, great attitudes and lots of smiles.

Both sides of parents provided lots of encouragement to both sets of teams which is what grassroots should always be about.

Both teams took some great learning which will help when the new season begins shortly.

Good luck for the new Season to Blaenavon and hopefully we can do it all again very soon :)
