It was a positive pre-season tournament today, with plenty of good moments and strong bonds created on the pitch, though there are definitely some negatives and lessons to work on. We got a lot of minutes in the legs, but we still need to find our killer touch and a bit more edge moving forward. Just a couple of weeks and a few training sessions away from being ready for the season. Let’s go Westgate Lionesses.💙💛

Tournament Recap
​Massive effort from the girls today! We competed in a 5-team league stage, facing tough competition across all four matches:
​Game 1: Controlled about 90% of the play. We missed a few chances to get ahead and got punished, but the performance was solid.
​Game 2: A 15-minute clash against a very tough side. We held our ground brilliant defensively, though we struggled to create clear chances upfront.
​Game 3: Controlled the tempo once again as the team really grew into the tournament structure.
​Game 4: It all clicked—the goals started flowing to cap off a fantastic finish!
​Great valuable minutes in the legs, plenty of lessons learned, and even better team bonding off the pitch.

​Here we go—our first tournament as Westgate Girls! We’re heading into a tough, high-level tournament to really test ourselves today. It’s a fantastic opportunity for all our new girls to bond as a team.
​With a couple of our usual vocal players away on holiday, it opens up a great gap for some of the other kids to step up and showcase their leadership on the pitch. We’re fully aware of the top-tier quality we’re up against, but the girls are completely up for the challenge!
​🎟️ Bonus update: We’ll also be drawing the Newcastle tickets live at the tournament today!
