What if the goal isn’t Black Excellence but Black Humanity?
We’ve spent generations proving, performing, excelling, and overcoming.
But here’s a radical thought:
Black people don’t have to be exceptional to be worthy.
It’s okay to be brilliant. It’s okay to be ambitious. It’s okay to be extraordinary, But it’s also okay to be average.
To rest, fail, change your mind.
To live an ordinary life without turning your existence into a statement.
We have nothing left to prove.
This article is a reflection on moving beyond the pressure of and embracing something even more powerful: # Black Humanity.
Because dignity isn’t earned through achievement. It belongs to us already.

When my good man Lamide TheGoodGuy shared the idea of The DODO Festival months ago, i knew it would be an instant HIT.
I live for authentic creativity, one that stems from a place of reason, thought and necessity — not yet another “African themed event” or rave.
Building The DODO Festival as a food festival series across multiple UK cities meant one thing; ADAPT & SURVIVE, and i watched Lamide TheGoodGuy be and become.
The Newcastle leg of The DODO Festival (The UK’s fastest growing food festival series ) was nothing short of amazing!
King iY made sure we enjoyed our ticket’s worth by delivering a stellar hypeman/host performance — one of the most versatile i have witnessed.
ensured we stayed DEhydrated, and wanting more sips and sounds.
I ran into some of my favourite Northeast creators, we kiki’d, had a laugh and all went home half-drunk, with a tummy full of plantain, in her different form.
5 star ex*****on!
And oh, my unripe plantain-inspired trousers was gifted to me by C K Afrique 🇬🇧

A new month reminder for every creator who’s been feeling invisible:
You are not behind.
Your voice is not too small.
Your story is not finished.
Read until the last slide. 🤎

📚New Story : From Cousins to Couple.
Sometimes, life teaches you lessons and othertimes? those lessons come from books..
Except this time they came from a Senegalese Uber driver who casually drops information that sends you into a 3-hour Google session.
Grab your seatbelt and swipe. 😂

Hey Family, It’s Day !!!
I am beyond thrilled to finally announce that I have officially stepped into my role as a ONE UK Ambassador.
Spending the last few days at the residential with this incredible cohort has been nothing short of transformative.
For me, this isn’t just a title; it’s a natural evolution of my journey as a cultural storyteller.
My heart has always been anchored in advocating for All Things Africa—celebrating our heritage, our brilliance, and our limitless potential, like we do at
Now, I’m taking that passion and putting it into high-gear activism.
I’ve reached a point in my life where the “fancy” no longer fuels me. I’m not interested in fleeting moments or temporary hype.
I’m focused on legacy!
I’m here to build something that outlasts me.
Because at the end of the day, and like i’ll always say; ‘I’d rather be worth-knowing than well-known.
I’d rather be a movement than a moment.
To my fellow Ambassadors,
We’ve got work to do!
Let’s make it count! ✊🏾🔥

POV: You’re still waiting for the “perfect” time to start.
_____
Let’s be real—perfectionism is just procrastination in a trench coat and a silk press. We’re so terrified of being “mid” that we choose to be invisible instead.
But here’s the tea: Perfect is boring. 🥱
The best time to start was two years ago. The second best time is today.
