The box is the easiest way to improve explosiveness and reactivity

A lot of people miss the very important fact that your feet is where the training starts. Your feet need to be trained as much as your legs, and popular muscle groups.

Plyometric jump roping is extremely important for athletes, this will help your foot response and teach quick contract ground times while pushing into the group

THE BEST WAY TO TRAIN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM IS MENTALITY.

Every rep has to mean something. We teach Malick to attack the first second of the drill like his life is on the line—no buildup, no easing into it. React. Fire. Go.

That mentality demands rapid neural drive, fast motor-unit recruitment and explosive force production—the exact qualities elite athletes need when the game gives them milliseconds to respond. Research shows the earliest phase of explosive movement is heavily influenced by how quickly the nervous system recruits and fires motor units. (PubMed Central (PMC))

Train the body. Train the nervous system. But first—train the mentality.

Malick knows the science of jumping—but knowing it and executing it under changing demands are two different things.

We progressed the hurdles from low to high, and naturally he began storing energy and preparing for the bigger hurdles. That’s exactly what we wanted to correct.

In reactive plyometrics, higher shouldn’t mean slower. The goal is to minimize the amortization/coupling phase and transition from eccentric loading to concentric action as rapidly as possible. ~0.15 seconds is our Mendoza line—not the goal. Elite reactive athletes can operate even faster.

Don’t load up for the jump. React off the ground.

We don’t just train the athlete’s body. We train the operating system behind it. 🧠⚡️

Elite sport demands the ability to see, feel, process, decide and react—simultaneously. This session is built around sensory integration, cognitive-motor interference, proprioception and reactive decision-making, challenging the athlete to maintain movement quality while processing constantly changing information.

The goal isn’t simply fatigue. It’s adaptability and automaticity—preparing the nervous system to organize movement when the game becomes unpredictable.

Train the brain. Organize the body. React to the game.
