I'm not in this to do what's normal.
Out of the box ideas that don't deserve to be kept inside the box.
I'd be bored without this way of thinking and doing.
I'll forever be grateful for this mentality, and for those around me that support and galvanise it πͺ, thank you ππ»

Your goals, my guidance. Let's smash them together οΏ½

Your journey:
What to expect and why:
1. First and foremost, expect realistic results.
Why? Because you've made a commitment to yourself by getting in touch about starting. It takes a lot to do that and you're making an investment into yourself. Like any investment you should expect a return. The key condition is how much effort you're willing to put in. We don't do the work for you, we show you how to do the work correctly and in a structure that works for you. The realistic expectation is not to expect to drop 4 stone in 4 weeks (not something I've had personally btw). Lasting change happens steadily and with consistency, apply this and you'll never lose anywhere in life π
2. Enjoy your training
Why? Because that's what this is all about, it's about enjoying and embracing the journey towards positive change. Whether you're a total newbie or someone who's had to switch their training up. If you don't enjoy it you won't get the most out of it. Every session should feel like progress and also be a huge dopamine hit π. We like it when you leave smiling ear to ear, trust me π
3. Build a good relationship with your coach/trainer
Why? Because building a good relationship enhances the experience, it instills a level of trust that helps each workout feel more and more like a fun school day; learning, lifting and loving the process of change. It binds with the above point of enjoying your training very strongly. You won't always walk in feeling your best, but having a session with a coach you get on with and trust - will definitely have you leaving feeling completely lifted π€Έ
4. Tough questions, and tougher self admissions
Okay, this one is the toughest to read and also write about.
This runs off point 2 & 3, this is why it's important to be able to trust your trainer/coach.
We all have bad habits, it's human. None of us are perfect and that's okay. However, what we learn about ourselves & what we do with what we know about ourselves is important for growth. It can go either way is the truth.
I'm going to use food relationship as an example here:
Bar a few chronic and genetic conditions, we put too much weight on/not enough weight on through poor habits and poor relationships with food. I say this without judgement as I was once 21 stone.
Do we want to admit to ourselves that it's our fault as it's something fully within our control? No not really, but we also don't want to accept that we have to be overweight or underweight for the rest of our life. It's our natural instincts to want to be healthy, the reality is given the chance we would all choose to look and feel good over staying the same, any day of the week.
I have to ask the tough questions, and also get my clients to ask themselves the toughest questions:
Food
Alcohol
Substances
Sleep
Family
Finances
Medication
Mental health
These are just some factors that have prevented people from changing. If you come to me for help, we will be going there. Not to judge, but to create the catalyst for change.
Admission is the start point
Ownership comes next
Then comes the relief of the mental weight being lifted
That's when we build a solid plan
Then we do whatever it takes to execute your plan to see you reach your full potential
The results?
They come free flowing ππ
My clients all say the same thing, training feels like therapy.
They're not wrong, this is more than exercise.
It's fixing months or even years of bad habits that have ultimately held you back.
You are important enough to yourself to want the best for yourself.

Every pathway to success starts with trying, and certainly endures failure along the way.
Failure is a lesson, not a loss.
It's how you accept it, what you can take from it to improve and then move forward with that defines your level of success πͺπͺ

Today I am very honoured and immensely proud to announce that I have been asked to take on a further role with my Para-Athlete, Andy Small. To supplement my current coaching role I am now his manager. Our journey together started in 2017, where off the back of winning a Bronze medal in his debut Paralympic games, I became his S&C coach. The goal was always gold in Tokyo, which Andy achieved in 2021.
Now we have our sights on Los Angeles in 2028, since Andy was unable to defend his medal in Paris due to what I'll just leave there as 'the geopolitics' of Para Athletics.
Now I'm in the management business, spa side form coaching I will be organising Andy's sporting life, getting his name out there more as he's an incredible person with an incredible story. As well as continuing to work alongside his main coach, Mickey Bushell (Gold medallist in T53 100m, London 2012), there's a network growing to make Para Athletics more accessible at every level. I'm hugely honoured to play such a big part in this movement and to bring opportunities to kids that, until now, have had limited ways to showcase their own talents.
It's a step up I'm ready for. And what a team we're building.
For events and guest appearances involving Andy, please get in touch with me.

Toms PB 10km
This deserves a massive mention:
Toms training for his first marathon in October. Over the last few months he's jumped on board and become a valuable member of my team. Not just a client, but a friend too.
As Tom knows all too well, this isn't a linear journey. A graph of his running week to week would look like a mountain range on paper - ups and downs. However it's been continued progress.
Many a voice note has been sent to pick him back up after not getting the Sunday pavement slog result he wanted. Many a reminder that he is in control of his results.
And every single time he has come back and shown how much he believes in himself.
He entered the Salford Quays 10km as a nice little practice run in a competitive environment. He even laughed about achieving a sub 41 minute.
My response was always the same: "you'll do it because you've trained hard enough to do it. You've put the work in and you will get the result you want."
I was over the moon to see his chip time come through with this. And now that marathon, only a few weeks away, will be light work on the day πͺ
Mindset is everything, it will make you or break you.
Toms mindset, made Toms results πͺ
