Last night’s game certainly didn’t disappoint the spectators! 🔥

Holytown Colts Reds 🆚 West Park

Another absolute cracker between these two teams! Across the last three meetings, these sides have produced over 30 goals 😮⚽️ — and last night was no different!

The Reds got off to a flying start, racing into a 2–0 lead, but West Park refused to give up. The Reds kept battling too, and the goals kept coming in what was a fantastic end-to-end game. 👏

As we approached the final stages, the score stood at an incredible 4–4. Unfortunately for the Reds, West Park managed to find the winning goal in the final minutes to make it 5–4.

A tough one to take, but what a performance from the girls! ❤️🖤

The coaches and players have been working incredibly hard to rebuild the squad, and we’re delighted that all our players are now back from holiday. We’ve also had a few enquiries from new players interested in joining the squad 😁🙌

At the moment, we have 11 players in the squad, but these girls are not giving up! 💪 They are available, they are ready, and they are prepared to take on whatever comes their way!

This weekend, our 2011 Reds took on the Edinburgh International Cup! ⚽️

It was a very busy weekend, with plenty of travelling and different venues throughout the tournament, but the girls gave it their all and represented Holytown with pride. 👏

A massive thank you to our coaches, players and parents for giving up their weekend and making the tournament possible. ❤️🖤

We would also like to give a special mention to Brooke, Emma, Lucy, Erin and Chloe, who stepped in and helped us out due to player availability. Without you girls giving up your weekend to play, we simply wouldn’t have been able to attend the tournament. 👏❤️🖤

The girls played 5 games over the weekend — originally we thought it was 1 draw and 1 win… but apparently the win got taken off us! 🤯🤯🤣 So, 2 draws it is! 😂

Results aside, the girls done really well throughout the tournament. We’re delighted they’ve got plenty of minutes in their legs and, more importantly, they’re sticking together and continuing to work hard as a team. 💪❤️🖤

There were also a few Holytown girls teams competing throughout the tournament, so a huge well done to all the girls wearing the famous red and black! 👏❤️🖤

A massive congratulations to our U14 Blacks, who made it all the way to the final — absolutely outstanding! 👏🔥

Also, well done to our U14 Reds, who attended the tournament and performed incredibly well. 👏

And let’s not forget our U12 teams, who by the looks of things had an incredible experience at the tournament! ❤️🖤

Finally, a huge congratulations to our pals at Harmony Row WFC who only went and won the Edinburgh Cup Final! 🏆👏 What an achievement!

Once again, thank you to all our players and families for travelling, supporting the girls and giving up your weekend. It wouldn’t be possible without you. ❤️🖤

🏆 Holytown Colts Girls Annual U16 Tournament 2026 🏆

What an incredible day we had yesterday at our annual girls’ tournament! ☀️ The weather was fantastic, the atmosphere was brilliant, and the football on display was outstanding.

With 10 teams, 3 finals, and over 150 players, it was a fantastic showcase of the girls’ and women’s game. Every match was played with great intensity, passion, and outstanding sportsmanship from start to finish.

On Friday, the girls had an amazing opportunity to take on Darlington Soccer from Canada in a fantastic friendly fixture.

It was a great run-out for the Reds against a strong and talented side. Darlington showed their quality in the first half and went into the break with a 7-0 lead.

The Reds came out for the second half with a change in formation and continued to battle right until the final whistle. Their hard work was rewarded when Brooke found the back of the net to make it 7-1. Darlington added two more goals before full time, with the match finishing 9-1.

The result wasn’t the main focus—it was a brilliant experience for our girls to test themselves against a team that had travelled such a long way. It was fantastic to see both sets of players come together after the game to swap gifts, creating memories and friendships that will last.

Another nice touch from Darlington Soccer club they presented our vice captain Lucia with our player of the match trophy. Lucia had a great game playing in different positions. 

A huge thank you to Darlington Soccer for the opportunity. We hope you all had an amazing trip to Scotland, and we wish you a safe journey home. Hopefully our paths cross again in the future!
