Day 5.. and that's a wrap!

Thanks Swim Wales for a brilliant Summers National Championships 👏

Day 4 and just Jonas and Head Coach Claire poolside for Mold.

A 400m Freestyle PB was the aim… and together they worked out the strategy, created a plan and delivered! A PB and the Gold was the reward!

Then came the 50m Butterfly evening final, a nail-biting finish and another medal for Mold and Jonas! Bronze!

One more day to go… Ems and Jonas race again tomorrow, one race each… What a championship it has been! Such a brilliant event to be a part of Swim Wales

Wow!! What a Day 3!

Elliot, Jonas and Ems absolutely smashed their heats today to all get a place in the finals.

Elliot had a fabulous swim to secure a place in the 50m Free 17+, where there was fierce competition. Elliot took on the challenge and had a great swim. What a way to introduce yourself to the National Champs stage!!

Well what can I say about our Welsh Champ Jonas? Swam a great race to secure a place in the 50m Free. Then swam the race of his life in the 1500m Free, which saw him dominate the pool, get a huge PB and achieve GOLD. Not satisfied with that, he then went on to gain Silver in the 50M Free with another PB!

Next up was Ems who gained a PB in the 200IM and was first reserve. She then got back in the water and secured another final for her 100M Breast, with a PB! After waiting, she got invited to join the 200IM final, however decided to decline and concentrate on her 100m Breast final. What an exciting race, which saw her come from behind and gain a Bronze medal.

Wow…I don’t know how much we can take of this 🤣…emotions everywhere and still 2 days to go!!

What will tomorrow bring, Jonas is poolside with 2 more races, 50 Fly & 400m Free.

Another afternoon of finals for our swimmers today.
Jonas competing at 5:33PM for 100 free final 1 lane 4

Day 1…what a high. 3 Races completed by our awesome members, 3 Finals achieved 💪 with a GOLD Welsh Champion for Jonas in his 200 Free, a SILVER in his 400 IM and Ems finished 5th in her 50 breast (seeded 6th into the final) and managed her first sub 40. What a team we have!!
What will Day 2 bring?! We’ve got a 100 Free for Jonas and 200 Breast for Ems! COME ON Mold Swimming Club!!

You've all put in the hard work, dedication, and countless hours of training, now it's time to enjoy the experience and show everyone what you're capable of.

The whole of MOLD SC is incredibly proud of you all and will be cheering you on every stroke of the way.

Go out there, swim fast, race with confidence, and most importantly, enjoy every moment!

Entries are now open for an alternative meet at Wrexham Waterworld on Sunday 26th April – a great chance for swimmers 9 and above, to get some races in. Mainly 50s & 100s but with a couple of 400s in for fun 🤩

Please note that closing date is FRIDAY 13th March, so please make sure you’ve submitted your entry via swim manager beforehand.
