Every week without fail we are picking up dog poo off the pitch and it’s becoming more and more.

Coaches/parents/helpers aren’t paid to coach the football let alone clean up someone else’s dog poo.

Please can we be more aware of where your dog is on the field and clean up after them at all times.

Part of our kit is not poo bags! 💩

You know what the best thing was about Sunday? The lads played absolutely stunning football. Yes the score didn’t go the way we wanted, but guess what?

The Robins took on Cranwell JFC today, and what a difference from our last meeting! 👏🏻⚽️

Last time out against Cranwell, it was a tough one and we were on the end of a heavy defeat. Today, the boys showed just how much they’ve grown, developed and learned since then. 💪🏻

The Robins held their own against a very good Cranwell side and competed right until the final whistle. There was plenty of effort, determination and some really good football on show. ❤️🖤

We were unlucky not to come away with a draw, with the boys giving everything they had and showing that they can compete with teams who previously caused us real problems.

Sometimes the scoreline doesn’t tell the full story — today was all about the progress. 📈⚽️

From being heavily beaten last time to going toe-to-toe today… that’s development, that’s hard work, and that’s the Robins spirit. 👏🏻🔥

⭐️GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL IS FAMILY ⭐️

Grassroots football is about so much more than what happens for 60 minutes on a Sunday. ⚽️❤️

It’s about the people behind the scenes, the volunteers, the parents, grandparents, coaches and sponsors who give their time to make sure our children have somewhere to play.

A huge shout-out and thank you to one of our sponsors, Bryan Coupland Ltd, who also happens to be a committed grandparent to an U10. 👏🏻

Andy has given up his own time to cut the grass — not just for his grandson’s pitch, but for the other pitches used by the Metheringham teams too. 🌱⚽️

That’s what grassroots football is all about. People doing things simply because they care about the club, the children and the community. ❤️

These things might happen quietly behind the scenes, but they make a HUGE difference.

⭐️FRIENDLY AGAINST RUSKINGTON U9s⭐️

Today was a really competitive game against a fantastic side who are a year younger than our Robins, but playing up a year — and they certainly made us work for it from start to finish. 👏🏻

Football doesn’t always give you the result you want, and today was one of those days where we simply have to take it on the chin.

These are the games that teach you just as much as the wins. 💪🏻⚽️

We dust ourselves down, take the lessons from today, and move onto next week ready to go again.
