The IBR has been helping to reunite lost and found birds of prey and owls throughout the UK and Euro

As well as our registration scheme we provide closed rings for breeders and we will also come out and talk to groups about our work offering basic advice about reducing the risk of losing a bird. Please visit our website for further information and services that we provide.

*** RECOVERED & REUNITED *** Guys in the Bridgham area of Norwich, please can you keep an eye out for this GyrSaker. The bird was tracked but only the transmitter was found on the top of a high bush and it is suspected it had been taken off as it was on a backpack and the spring was undamaged. If anyone has any information about this bird, please contact me. Thanks. Babs

This was passed to me the other day. The bird had hit a window which is why it doesn't look too good but then it did manage to fly off. If anyone is missing this bird in the Market Drayton area, please MESSAGE me just in case I get anymore information. Thanks. Babs

Guys in the Tunstall area of Staffordshire, ST6, please can you keep a look out for a Harris Hawk, missing for the last 2 days. Unfortunately, the bird may be trailing a leash. I know this isn't ideal but posting negative comments will not get the bird safely home - we all have made mistakes. Thank you. Babs

Morning everyone!
Just some advice regarding birds that require an Article 10.
Sometimes, closed rings need to be cut off birds mainly due to medical reasons.
Please remember that this will invalidate the A10 and so it is important that a vet is asked to do this and so that a letter can be obtained explaining why the ring was taken off. The letter should also include the number on the ring that has been taken off. Even consider taking a photo of the ring that has been taken off.
If a replacement A10 is required, the bird would have to be microchipped and together with the letter from the vet and any photos taken, this should not be a problem.
If anyone has any questions regarding paperwork, please do not hesitate to give me a call and I will help as best I can.
Have a lovely day and I hope it isn't too hot wherever you are.
Babs.
