After an excellent day’s competition across Bolton Flat Green Bowling Club and HeatonHall Bowling Club, the Men’s Triples Last 16 and Quarter-Finals have now been completed, leaving four teams in contention for the county title.

Congratulations to all players who have progressed, with the semi-finals set to take place on Sunday 28th June at Bolton.

The Lancashire Middleton Cup side travels to Houghton Dairy Lane Bowling Club on Saturday for a crucial fixture against Bowls Durham.

With the group table beginning to take shape, every point is vital and Lancashire will be looking to build on a positive start to the campaign as they take on strong opposition away from home.

Lancashire suffered the narrowest of defeats this afternoon at Selby Bowling Club, going down by just 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁 to Yorkshire in a fiercely contested encounter.

With the rinks shared, the match came down to the aggregate, where Yorkshire edged home 𝟭𝟬𝟯-𝟭𝟬𝟮, snatching a 1️⃣6️⃣-6️⃣ victory.

Despite the disappointment of falling just short on aggregate, there were plenty of positives to take from the afternoon, with Lancashire battling all the way to the final end against a strong Yorkshire side.

Importantly, Lancashire remain 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟲 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀, with all to play for as attention now turns to a huge fixture next weekend.

Tonight’s Bowls England Double Fours match is set to be a very special occasion as 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗻 take on 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 in a national competition fixture.

To see a ladies team not only competing, but facing the men’s team from the same club on the national stage, is a powerful reflection of how the game continues to evolve. This is believed to be an unprecedented occasion and quite possibly a first in the history of the Double Fours.

It is a fantastic reflection of the strength, depth and talent within Bolton Flat Green Bowling Club, and a proud moment for everyone connected with the club.
