💚 We are thrilled to share the exciting news that our own Nyte Owl is representing Great Britain in the Run Archery European Cup!🏹🏃‍♀️ Archery GB

Nyte Owl is a long standing, almost-OG Manchester Roller Derby member (2010) and currently plays for Manchester Valkyries B team. We are continually so impressed by her skills and so proud!

So excited for the Great Yorkshire Showdown!!

Today is our penultimate team announcement for and it's our friends from t'other side of t'hill, it's Manchester Valkyries B Team 🎉

📣It may have been quiet on our socials lately but we have been BUSY! On 1 August, we played our first off season game against the fantastic Nottingham Roller Derby B team ‘Bolts’. This was a stretching game where we were really challenged by their excellent players. We learnt a lot, and had a lot of fun!

We travelled as a full Manchester Valkyries gang, and supported some of our newer skaters in the rookie game, and our experienced big sisters in the A game. We’re also super proud to have had several of the B team and crossover players get some well deserved track time as part of the A team. A double shift!🥵

A fellow Valkyrie who knows what's up ✌️🏳️‍⚧️

WNBA star Gabby Williams, who plays for the Golden State Valkyries as a forward, shared her support for trans rights and what she really thinks of the debate around trans athletes competing alongside cisgender athletes.

In a 20 May interview with The Local W, Williams said, “There’s a lot of discourse around trans athletes and what they can compete in. I would welcome a trans athlete on my team or against my team. Anytime. I don’t think it’s a problem in the world, it’s just another way to kind of attack trans people.”
