Holcombe Two Towers FR ’26

Brilliant results for our fell runners at Wednesday evenings RTMFGP race at the Two Towers Fell Race (hosted by Holcombe.) Stuart Litster gained a Third Overall position and John Hall won his Age Category, there were strong runs by all our runners, which is is good news for our standings in the Run The Moors Fell GP. Well done all!

Pennington Flash Trail 2026

Piethorne 10K

We were treated to near perfect running conditions this Sunday after the recent heat with cool temperatures and only a bit of rain. This 10k race starts and ends near Ogden/Piethorne reservoirs in Newhey, crossing under the motorway towards Littleborough on some deceptively tough loose stony paths. We returned back over the M62 via Tunshill Golf club, up a long steep cobbled road before a nice grassy descent and woody dash to the reservoir dam to be greeted by a lovely table of drinks and treats (and free beers!) Harriers had some great results....

Turnslack Fell Race

Yesterday 9 harriers took on Turnslack Fell Race in Littleborough. This classic race features 610m of ascent over 12.9km . It many parts of the race are pathless and there is long grass, tussocks, bogs and shoulder high bracken to contend with. There are several extremely steep climbs and it is very easy to get lost amid the many lumps, bumps, old mines and steep gullies....
