It’s National Su***de Month and it got me thinking about the strain my mind has been through this year. You’ve heard my story enough now to know that 9 years ago I had no interest in living. Luckily I had the means to get help.
Over the past couple of years I’ve had serious medical issues that were being ignored by professionals, mentally, I was at wits end and couldn’t see how it would be fixed. Fortunately because of the help I’d previously received for my mental health I was able to work through my feelings and thoughts. Many don’t get that opportunity.
Luckily I’ve now been listened to, and specialists have helped settle my condition, but a side effect is h th e medication I’m on has made me put on A LOT of weight, which ironically triggers other mental issues.
So I thought I’d take action to help both me and others. My fitness is at an all time low so I’ve committed to a 10k at Heaton Park on 29th November to raise money for Mind Charity. I’ve set a target of £500 which I’d love to hit so more people can benefit from the great work Mind does. Any donations no matter the size you can give would be amazing, but even a share would mean so much!
