In 1987 a small group of local enthusiasts got together to form what is now known as The Colchester Roman Society.
We embrace all aspects of Roman life and take part in shows all over the UK and in Europe.

So sad to hear of the passing of our good friend and Society member, Bryan Scott. Everyone who knew him would know what a genuinely nice guy he was. An architect by trade he brought his expertise ( and groma! ) to our Roman reenactment world. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him 🕯️

Yesterday we were invited to take part in St Lawrence’s Day in Rowhedge at St Lawrence’s Church. It was a great little event with lots of nice people with bagpipes and sea shanties thrown in for good measure 😄
