This afternoon Tara visited the lovely Oak Court.
Always such a lovely bunch of residents & staff here.
Lots of smiling faces & everybody waiting to play darts & have some fun 🎯
Everybody was really impressive today. Some really great scores hit and people putting in lots of effort and really wanting to do well! ☺️
Dave took the lead early on with a big treble, Roy & Ron were steady all the way through, Jane was brilliant (even thought she’d never thrown a dart before), Christine & Caroline really enjoyed it, but today’s stand out players were both Malcolm - who is totally blind. After some practise & some help in where to position his arm when throwing - he hit the bullseye 🎯 on his third go!
Well done Malcolm! 🙌🏼 This is super impressive!
But today’s winner was Maxine…!
Maxine was brilliant. Really great coordination, and a lovely strong throw. She was telling me that she used to love playing golf ⛳️
But she really enjoyed the darts today! She was delighted to win the gold cup 🏆

This morning Tara visited Sandiacre court.
Lovely full room of residents waiting to play darts 🎯
Mixture of abilities, but even the people who got Involved with the Velcro dart board had a really great time!
Lots of smiles & laughs ☺️
Myra was really impressive… she didn’t want to join in initially because she had never played darts as was afraid of looking silly, but she actually came third! She did brilliantly ! 🎯👍🏻
Today’s winner was Glynn. 🏆
He did great on every throw, winning the game with a really
Impressive score.

This morning started at Syston Lodge where we had a small group of the regulars. It was a fascinating game where there was a new leader after each round.
Sue, John and Janet all led after each round but it was to be Sheila who would take away the gold cup for the first time.

Wednesday afternoon Tara visited the lovely Fosse Way View.
It was unusually quiet, with lots of residents who usually join us, wanting to rest, as they had a busy morning with a singer in to entertain them!
But never the less we had a lovely afternoon of darts.
Everybody was very encouraging, and there was lots of smiles & laughs.
There was even a lady who came just to watch, who ended up joining in - and she was excellent ! 🙌🏼
Lots of good scores hit, but the winner today was Diane, with a really impressive 246 points !
She was delighted to win the trophy 🏆

This morning it was off to Cadley Hill View Care Home cadleyhillview where we had a big group of residents waiting to play beat the score.
We managed to hit some big trebles with Noaleen hitting a treble 19 and Mary hitting the outer bullseye with her weaker left hand. Last times champion Colin hit the treble 16 but wasn’t enough for him to win the cup on this occasion.
Kelvin and Mary would be crowned today’s champions and we had a great reception when the session had finished. Residents were also asking when we were returning.

⭐️⭐️⭐️RESIDENT OF THE WEEK ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This weeks resident of the week is Val - from Balmore Country House. ☺️
Val wasn’t keen to play at first, she wanted to just watch.
But with some encouragement from Tara & her friends, she joined in.
At first Val was flicking the darts when she let go, resulting in them falling onto the floor.
She was keen to learn why, and how to throw them properly.
Val really watched & listened to Tara (and other residents), and with plenty of perseverance, determination and encouragement, Val was throwing some lovely darts after her third go!! 🎯
She really got into it and really enjoyed it. She was smiling the whole time and getting really involved in the game. Recognising good scores !
Val even hit the outer bullseye and the treble 18!
Well done Val… really highlighting perseverance & determination. 🎯☺️
