Jewish Peaceniks Gaza Tent Installation, focusing on the plight of Gazan children 05/07/2026

Members of ICAHD UK are involved in Jewish Peaceniks whose latest action took place in central London. They curate events to highlight their abhorrence as Jews at what is being perpetrated against the Palestinian population in Gaza and beyond. Some of them are daughters of parents persecuted by the N**i regime who are particularly devastated to be witnessing acts of dehumanisation and genocide enacted by a Jewish state created in the wake of the Holocaust.

She Gets It - The Archbishop of Canterbury Calls for a Just Peace while visiting Tent of Nations

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, completed a five-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land from 20th – 24th June 2026 which was her first pastoral visit to the region since her installation in March. While there, she visited Christian churches, schools, hospitals and communities in East Jerusalem, Nazareth, Birzeit and Bethlehem in addition to meeting with Jews and Muslims from civil society, faith and interfaith groups.

We were delighted to discover that her schedule included a stop at Tent of Nations, with whom ICAHD has a long history on several levels. This farm has been in the Nassar family since 1916 and since 1991, it has been in the courts to have its documents of ownership recognised by Israel, so they retain their land preventing it from being annexed that would resulting in the family being forcibly displaced. Over the years, the family has experienced demolitions, along with harassment and violence from the settlers living in the five illegal settlements surrounding it as well the new outpost directly opposite the boundary fence to the farm.

What was striking is that this Archbishop has gone far beyond what her predecessors have ever expressed about Palestine/Israel. Archbishop Mullally, along with the Archbishop in Jerusalem, Dr Hosam Naoum, issued a statement and within it they state that “Settler violence, forced displacement, and systemic discrimination in the West Bank present an existential challenge that demands our focused attention and collective responsibility, and that the time to act is now.”

DEMOLITION UPDATES: Yesterday, Israeli forces demolished an inhabited residential building and a livelihood structure

On 2 July 2026, Israeli Civil Administration along with Israeli forces demolished a two story residential building near road 356 in Khribet ad Deir community near Tuqu'. The incident took place in area C allegedly for lacking a building permit. As a result, a family of eight people including six children is displaced. The demolished building included two floors and in each floor there was one residential apartment. The first floor was built in 2010 while the other was built four years after. Prior written notifications issued by the Israeli civil administration were issued and the owner followed up the case legally. Part of the family's personal belongings were lost under the rubble.

On 2 July 2026 at approximately 4:30 AM, the Israeli Civil Administration, accompanied by Israeli forces, demolished a livelihood structure in the village of Duma, south of Nablus. The structure included a 70-square-meter building divided into two rooms, one used as an office and the other for service-related purposes. The facility also contained a concrete water cistern with a capacity of around 200 cubic meters. The site was primarily used as a cattle barracks. According to the owner, a stop-work order had been issued against the structure in 2016. Despite continued legal follow-up through the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, the Israeli side didn’t respond to the objection; the demolition was carried out on the grounds that the structure lacked the required building permits in Area C. The demolition affected one Palestinian family.

One of the "Greats"- Tribute to Prof Colin Green

Anyone who met Colin Green soon discovered that you were in the presence of a truly remarkable individual. As a distinguished scholar with a brilliant mind, a huge capacity for work, so many achievements that it would take pages to list, and with deep compassion for humanity, his involvements stretched across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. But it was Palestine that became one of his major passions.

We first met Colin in 2006 when he came along to hear Jeff Halper speak to one of the study tour groups that was based at St George’s Guesthouse in East Jerusalem. Colin visited Palestine regularly because of his involvement in establishing the first Palestinian Faculty of Medicine at Al-Quds University in 1994 and he went on to found the International Medical Education Trust (IMET2000) that developed online training, research and telemedicine programmes, based in Ramallah.

Colin loved our work and had concluded that the way forward was for one democratic state. He soon became one of our patrons and participated in several of ICAHD UK’s conferences and public meetings. Knowing how Israel was testing weapons on Palestinians, he was eager for Jeff to write his book War Against the People: Israel, the Palestinians and Global Pacification and enabled Jeff to be based for three months at Northwick Park Institute for Medical Research, which he had founded.

'Ask Jeff' - ICAHD UK's June Webinar - ICAHD 01/07/2026

Ask Jeff - ICAHD UK's June Webinar

“Today’s webinar was one of the best I have attended in a while. Very meaty and clear. I was particularly encouraged by Jeff's comments on how we in the international community can present the "big picture" to those around us so that they can make sense of the events and films etc. that they encounter daily.” – P Sherwood, Canada

ICAHD UK provided the opportunity for reflection and discussion about where we are in the struggle for Palestinian rights because it is so easy to lose the forest for the trees. Palestine is both at the centre of the action and marginal to it. Israel's motivation for attacking Iran and Hezbollah is a follow-up to its genocidal assault on Gaza and the refugee camps of the West Bank, all intended to break once and for all Palestinian resistance and its external sources of support so as to get on with normalisation, however the Palestinians are not even at the table as their future is being decided.

We were joined by Jeff Halper, speaking from Jerusalem, who started with a presentation that helped the audience step back to examine the Big Picture. He asked if Zionism's settler colonial project to Judaise Palestine is entering its final stages, or if regional events, Israel's increasing pariah status and a resurgence in international support for the Palestinian cause is setting it back. He spoke about what must be done under Palestinian leadership from within Palestine to move from resistance to liberation. Lastly, Jeff addressed ideas about how international supporters of the Palestinian struggle can effectively empower the Palestinians in their struggle.

To summarise Jeff’s presentation, he referred to a new slide he had prepared. The webinar then opened for 45 minutes of questions and discussion with our international audience.

DEMOLITION UPDATES: Jerusalem municipality along with Israel's Nature and Parks Authority confiscate land privately owned by the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, demolish structure on it based on "Environmental development and gardening reasons"

On 15 June 2026, personnel from the Jerusalem municipality and the Israeli Nature and Parks Authority demolished an agricultural storage room and confiscated land owned by the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, in Silwan under claims of gardening and environmental development. As a result one household of nine people, including seven children was affected.

Israeli forces broke into the land, expelled its Palestinian representative and caretaker that had been present in the land for tens of years, demolished the room, confiscated all his agricultural equipment, uprooted all cultivated trees destroying all contents within the property. Additionally, Israeli forces closed the land with fences and a gate seizing the church-owned property denying Palestinian and church representatives access to the land, under claims of gardening orders which was issued for the land in January 2025, allowing the municipality to take control over the land claiming that the land was neglected.

The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate stated that the confiscated land is officially registered under its ownership and holds historical, archaeological, and religious significance. Following the seizure, the Patriarchate filed an urgent lawsuit against the Jerusalem Municipality seeking an injunction to halt the works. However, despite the legal action, Israeli authorities continued to work inside the property in the following days. The Palestinian representative and caretaker had maintained a continuous presence on the land for several years and relied on cultivating and maintaining the property as a source of livelihood.

Falling Foul of the Law - ICAHD 30/06/2026

Falling Foul of the Law

In September I sat in Parliament Square for seven hours holding a flimsy placard on which I’d scrawled the forbidden words, I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action. Arrested as the heat of the day was declining, I fell foul of the law for the first time in my long and otherwise unremarkable life.

This would be the first of five arrests for holding a placard bearing the same inscription. A sixth occasion, outside Woolwich Crown Court, displaying slightly modified wording though still expressing support for the outlawed group, failed to attract an arrest, when the police abandoned the hunt after having arrested a hundred or so placarders.

In the course of my arrests, I’ve been processed and locked up in three police-station cells – two in London and one in Birmingham. Experiences vary, but I’ve found police personnel in both cities to have been polite, friendly, almost apologetic. A fellow arrestee, when asked by her arresting officer if she would repeat the offence, replied ‘Probably.’ ‘Good for you!’ replied the policeman.
