Ever hit the gym after not going for a while, and feel that intense muscle soreness the next day? It may feel bad, but it's a sign of progress, and not a problem in itself. Understanding this reaction is key to building strength and resilience. But have you ever considered how compassion training can be similar? Maybe discomfort does not have to stop us from growing.

Start by asking yourself: what's happening outside of me that might be influencing my inner state? Are there lingering memories, self-criticism, poor sleep, or even a recent cold affecting your threat system? Understanding these internal signals is key.
If you experience a threat system response during Compassionate Mind Training (CMT) practices, don't be discouraged. This unpleasant reaction actually signals you're in the right place for growth. It shows where your focus needs to be.

If compassionate mind training causes distress, it might be a sign you're addressing the real pain. The skill lies in guiding someone through that moment, not avoiding it.
💪 Athletes warm up their bodies… why shouldn’t therapists warm up their minds too? 🧠✨
Preparing yourself before a long day of sessions isn’t just smart, it’s essential. Take a moment to breathe, center yourself, and step into your work with compassion. 🤍
Even the most experienced therapists have tough days. Remember: self-care isn’t optional, it’s part of the job. 🌿
