Well this is fun. Half term excitement right there - Not. Not sure what I make of it or how I feel about it to be honest. I mean he’s 10 years old.
I definitely approached this whole +11 thing very naively. I didn’t realise it was such a ‘big deal’. 😬 So we’ve doing a little bit a day. I’m trying to get him to embrace it because we’re learning new things and that’s cool - but I’m refusing to get stressed about it. I also bribe him with milkshakes. It is what it is!! There has to be a balance somewhere.
I have also realised that I know NOTHING!!! Literally nothing. The maths is a joke!! I mean seriously, did we learn this at school?!? #11+

Wonderful Annie!
I.S.C. in the press! Annie spoke to The Sun this week and shared some tips about how to get children into bed. I also dispelled some myths about white noise, night lights and the clock change. Please share with tired parents!

Happy Day to us!!!! To all our fellow Mums, our mum friends and mum followers and, of course, to the amazing mums who made us who we are but are celebrating elsewhere today. ❤️ To you all, we raise a glass. Cheers you simply wonderful lot.
And a special shout out to my mother mentor (she’s older than me and has three of them!)

The views from our desks!! Those that follow us know we both work full time. There is not getting away from that. Furlough is not an option soo taking your children and their homeschooling to work is!

Barney’s lockdown hair game is strong.
I could attempt to hack at it because quite frankly I’m not sure I could make it any worse but the sensible side of me is saying wait until a professional can get to it.
It is literally like a birds nest every morning and I could really do without the arguments over brushing it!! Any advice most welcome! any tips?!?

What. A. Day. Please can we have some more of these please. The crisp air, the blue skies, the crunchy snow....it made Monday a pleasure. We got out before ‘school’, we got out on our ‘lunch break’, and we got out ‘after school’.
It makes you realise how hard this is. We’re doing this, this lockdown in the middle of winter, short days and grey skies.
Two days break from the s**t weather makes all the difference.
I have a client who always signs off his emails with ‘Blue Skies Sam’. He’s right.
Be kind to yourself out there team. This is hard. Take the little wins when you can. Take deep breaths and take every damn moment at a time. 👊🏻

Another night with you. 💙 I hope Barney still loves me after this lockdown! We’re glued to the hip and in fairness, I’d be sick of me by now.

We’re recruiting for a getaway driver if anyone is interested 😋 Barney takes after me with his dislike of the running in the cold but we did it. Dropped some bits round to my Mum (she’s my support bubble) then did the Little and very muddy run home.
When it’s just the two of us we have to compromise. I play football with him and he runs with me. The main thing is we get out everyday and that keeps, both of us, sane.

On the positive side, I get to have lunch with him every day!
As we sat down during what is now, ‘our lunch break’, Barney said to me.... “Well, here we are again”. 😂
Wasn’t a lot I could say to that other than, “yup. We’re going to be doing this 3 times a day for the next 5 weeks at least”. Might need to work on the portion sizes! 😂

Home schooling - let’s do this! Books collected and we’re reading to hit the ground running tomorrow. Well, we will be one I’ve braved the loft to dig out a laptop for him. Feel that second time round we should have this nailed. 😬 Just call me a full time working single parent homeschooling extraordinaire 👊🏻 (Daddy is away for 10 weeks! Timed that well 🙄) Rather grateful I only have one!!!
