Hampton & Richmond Borough Football Club

Many of you may be aware that former Hampton & Richmond Borough Football Club first team manager Mel Gwinnett has taken a leave of absence from his current Club Cheshunt FC to concentrate on his health. Cheshunt FC announced that Mel has been receiving treatment at Northampton General Hospital and at home to treat a rare form of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. We are saddened to hear about Mel’s struggles with his health. We wish Mel, his wife Lorraine, son Raif and daughters Stacey and Danielle strength during his treatment period and hope for positive results.

Cheshunt FC further reports that Maggie’s Northampton have been supporting Mel and his family every step of the way. Maggie’s Centres are a national charity supporting cancer patients and their families through their journey. Mel’s family are participating in the 2026 Silverstone Run Fest in order to raise funds for Maggie’s. A 🦫 Reunion!

Former HRBFC teammates Nicke Kabamba and Jamal Lowe faced off for the first time yesterday as their sides Bromley and Sheffield Wednesday came up against each other in League One!

Jamal even came away with a brace in Wednesday's 7-2 win.
