Throughout my years as a coach, I’ve met so many amazing people, from London all the way to the Lake District.
Every person who shows up to my sessions has already won, simply by stepping out of their comfort zone and choosing to work on themselves and feel better.
Every client comes with different goals, different experiences and a different story.
My job isn’t just to write a programme. It’s to listen and understand where they’re starting from and what they want to achieve, as well as giving them the tools to get to where they want to be.
Watching someone become stronger, more confident and achieve things they once thought they couldn’t is one of the best parts of what I do. I absolutely love to be part of their fitness journey and part of their story.
I’ll always want to see them win. I’ll always be their biggest fan
I train like this so I can do this. 💪🥾
My strength training has changed over the last two months because of unforeseen circumstances. I used to love lifting heavy, but my priorities have changed. Now I mostly focus on strength exercises that help me go up and down the fells. I’m building endurance so I can enjoy long days out in the mountains.
I like to think my recent injury was a blessing in disguise (even if I didn’t see it that way at the time).
Who else has had to change their training because of an injury?
Do I have fun being outdoors? Yes!
Do I always look like I’m having fun? Probably not.
But that’s the beauty of the fells. No two days are ever the same. Since I started hiking the Wainwrights, it’s been a journey. I’ve met great people and learnt a lot.
For more days on the fells 🥾

The fells…the lake…Lake District 😍
Absolutely in love with this place ❤️
Hartsop Dodd, Caudale Moor, Thornwaite Crag and Gray Crag.
If you’re planning to do these four Wainwrights, I’ll just give you an insight of how my experience went on Saturday. Accompanied by Elaine, weather really behaved and gave us amazing views!
The route is fairly straightforward to follow, although it definitely makes you work for it: climb up Hartsop Dodd and Thornwaite Crag are pretty steep. Most of the terrain is grassy, with a few rocky sections along the way, but the descent from Stony Cove Pike towards Thornthwaite Crag is probably the most technical part of the route, with a bit of scrambling thrown in too.
As a little bonus, we also included Thornthwaite Crag for Elaine, as she hadn’t visited that one before.
We’ve done this one as a circular, so finished back in Hartsop.
With these three Wainwrights added to the list, I’ve now reached 104 completed and I’m getting closer to the halfway point of all 214.
Have you done any of these fells before, or is there another route you’d recommend?
MOVE AND CONNECT - June edition
This Sunday, we went to the Helm in Kendal for a leisurely walk.
The weather was brilliant, so we made the most out of it. Took one hour to enjoy being outdoors, catch up on life, share plans and have some really good conversations.
That’s what Move & Connect is all about: movement, fresh air and great company.
If you’d like to join us next time, drop me a message.
We meet once a month and love welcoming new faces.
The more time I spend in the Lake District, the more I realise everyone has their own way of connecting with the outdoors.
