Greetings of Unity, Peace, and Blessings.
We warmly invite everyone to join us in December 2026 to honour and celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved father, Kur Mum Ajak (Kurdit Machotamer).
Kur Mum Ajak was a respected president of the Court in Luacjang Community, known for his fairness, wisdom, generosity, and service to his people. His legacy remains a source of pride for the Abuong community and all 13 sections of Luacjang.
During this gathering, we will honour his memory, work on preserving his grave as a lasting memorial, and also remember Uncle Majok Mayen and our grandfather Peeth Ajak. The event will also include the Abuong Community Conference, bringing together family members and community leaders for unity, prayer, and discussions about our future.
We respectfully appeal to the Office of H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit for support in facilitating transportation arrangements for family and community members to attend to this important occasion. We also extend an invitation to H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit will join us if his duties allow.
Let us all come together in Abuong this December to honour our elders, strengthen our unity, and celebrate our shared heritage.

25-year-old woman, identified as Adut Dimo Uchalla, has allegedly been arrested after reportedly cutting off her boyfriend's p***s over claims that he was planning to marry another woman, despite their six-year relationship.

According to reports, Adut Dimo travelled from Lake State to Wau, where Deng Wek, her boyfriend, spent the night at Rose Hotel. It is alleged that she gave him a substance that caused him to fall asleep before using a knife to carry out the attack.

🚨 BREAKING: Kenya’s President William Ruto announces free university education for Kenyan students starting in September

Nairobi — President William Ruto has announced that every student admitted to a public university or college will receive full government funding, effectively making higher education free for qualified Kenyan students.

The new universal funding model is set to take effect with the September 2026 intake, pending parliamentary approval of amendments to the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) Act.

> “Going forward, any student who has passed and is placed in a college or university will get full funding for their education,” Ruto said.

This marks a major shift from the previous needs-based funding system.

Jonglei Governor Riek Add 10 new Payams in Twic East County

The Governor of Jonglei State, Riek G*i Kok Diang, has issued a gubernatorial order establishing 10 new Payams in Twic East County.

According to Jonglei authorities, this is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen local governance, improve public administration, and enhance service delivery.

Under the order, the newly created Payams and their respective administrative headquarters are:

1. Kongor North Payam – Headquarters: Payom Town

2. Kongor South Payam – Headquarters: Pawel Town

3. Ajuong North Payam – Headquarters: Paliau Town

4. Ajuong South Payam – Headquarters: Pawiel Town

5. Lith North Payam – Headquarters: Pabarchikok Town

6. Matjak Payam – Headquarters: Kanychuk Town

7. GuengKeer Payam – Headquarters: Aliau Town

8. Wangkar Payam – Headquarters: D**g Town

9. Pakeer South Payam – Headquarters: Merjak Town

10.Pakeer North Payam – Headquarters: Maar Town

The gubernatorial order further provides for the establishment of Bomas under each of the newly created Payams to strengthen grassroots administration, improve coordination at the local level, and bring essential government services closer to communities across Twic East County.

The creation of the new administrative units is expected to facilitate more effective governance, enhance public participation, and support equitable development throughout the county.

The Deputy Chairperson of SPLM-IO in Western Bahr el Ghazal State, Hon. Valentino Akech Akuar, has defected to the ruling SPLM alongside three state ministers.

Abuong Mayardit Youth Association calls for fair representation in Luacjang.

The Abuong Mayardit Youth Association (AMYA) has raised concerns over the repeated appointment of Abuong representative to the position of Deputy Chairperson within the Luacjang Students’ Union in Universities and Higher Institutes.
In a letter addressed to the Chairperson of the Luacjang Students’ Union, AMYA clarified that its concerns were not intended to challenge the constitutional powers of the union leadership to make appointments. Instead, the association said it was seeking fairness, equal representation, and inclusiveness among all sections of Luacjang students.
According to the association, Abuong has occupied the Deputy Chairperson position in three out of the last four leadership terms, raising questions about whether leadership opportunities are being distributed equally among different sections.
AMYA argued that while appointments may not officially be based on sections or geographical considerations, the practice of ensuring representation from different communities has been important in promoting unity and fairness.
The association called for a balanced approach in future appointments, suggesting that leadership opportunities should rotate among sections to allow wider participation and representation.
“Genuine inclusion requires that all sections have the opportunity to serve in different capacities over time,” the letter stated.
AMYA emphasized that its intention is not to create division but to promote justice, equality, mutual respect, and transparency among Luacjang students.

“The statement stands that Abuong should be excluded from the current leadership and wait for the next leadership opportunity. If this position remains unchanged, let the union continue its work without further disruption.”

The association concluded by calling on future leadership decisions to reflect the principles of equity and equal opportunity for all sections of Luacjang.

Luacjang Students' union responds to Abuong Mayardit Youth complaint over the Deputy Chairperson appointment.

Luacjang Students' Union in Universities and Higher Institutes in Juba has officially responded to concerns raised by the Abuong Mayardit community youth union regarding the repeated appointment of the deputy Chairperson position.

In a letter addressed to the Chairperson of Abuong Mayardit Youth Union in Juba ,the Luacjang Students, union leadership acknowledged the concerns raised but defeated the appointment,stating that the decision was made in accordance with the union's constitution.

URGENT HUMANITARIAN APPEAL.

Internally displaced families from the Marial Wau community have been forced to flee their homes due to ongoing conflict between Apuuk and Waau. They are currently seeking refuge at Wau Baai Centre, Tharkueng, where they are facing severe shortages of food, shelter, medicine, and other basic necessities.
Many families are sleeping on the ground and struggling to survive. Infants are also affected by an outbreak of whooping cough, raising concerns about the rapid spread of the disease.
They are appealing to humanitarian organizations, government authorities, and people of goodwill for urgent support with food, non-food items, and medical assistance.
