🗣️ Mikel Arteta on if teams look at us differently now we’re champions:

"I don’t know how teams are going to behave. I think we need to understand really well what we want, I think we’re very clear in the way we want to approach every single game and then go day by day to prove that we belong where we are."

"It’s the best squad that we have, or we believe that we could have right now, and that’s it.

"That’s not the best squad that we’re going to have in a month’s time because hopefully the players will improve, the team will improve and we’ll be better."

"It’s very simple: whatever they are reading, come and knock on my door if they have a question and I will tell them if it’s true or not. In any position, if you catalogued all the players linked with us in the last three months and put them on the wall, I think we’d need a whole building to put them on.

"They know there is a lot of speculation with players and if they feel in any doubt of what we think of them when we come to recruit a player, I tell them straight away."

"No. Normally I do it. If we go to sign a player in their position, I tell them straight away. These are the plans and we believe the same in you, but the competition is going to increase. I prefer to do it that way."

🗣️ Mikel Arteta on where Eberechi Eze fits into things at the moment:

"The great thing that we have in the team is that a lot of players have a huge versatility to play in and occupy different spaces. Ebz is one of them, he plays as a left winger, as a left attacking midfielder, right attacking midfielder, and he can deliver the ball in a great way in those positions.

"So we will see changes in relation to the opponent, to the relationship that we have in the team, players playing in different positions is going to be needed. I think it’s a real asset that we have in the team."

"Don't go there. I'm not going to make any comment about any player that is not with us."

"Publicly, I never ask them. I think it's more private to get the feeling that if it's something unique, an attachment, a feeling, that they really want to join us, and they have that desire to come and be part of our family."

🗣️ Mikel Arteta on if there’s any doubt about throwing Konsa into a game against his former club:

"No. If I see something different in the player then I may have a question about that, but the way I’ve seen Ezri since day one, knowing his personality really well and through people that have worked with him, I have no concern there."

"That's another personal situation that we're dealing with. I think everybody knows and recognises how much we love Gabi. Whatever the outcome is, it will be because everybody agrees to that."
