〰️ What if wellness wasn’t another thing we had to be good at?
I love all the things that help us feel better…. movement, good food, sleep, time outside, meditation, all of it. But I do think wellness has somehow become another area of life we’re expected to optimise….
The perfect morning routine. The perfect diet. The right supplements. Enough steps. Enough protein. Enough sleep….
It’s one of the reasons I created The Yoga Class in the first place. I wanted it to feel grounded and non-dogmatic- somewhere you could find genuinely good practices without being told there was one right way to do wellness- different tools for different days, moods and stages of life.
You don’t need to feel like you need do all of it. You just need to find the things that make you feel better.

〰️ Halloumi + Watermelon salad with cucumber ribbons 🌱
Summer food should feel good, Hydrating, Colourful, Fresh, Easy to digest + energising- so we are sharing some of our NOURISH section, all created by gut health expert + Nutritionist Eve Kalinik | Nutritional Therapist
Ingredients:
1/2 mini watermelon cut into 6 triangles per slice and trim off the outer green layer
1 tablespoon butter
1 cucumber
Handful of mint and parsley leaves
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or can sub for chilli flakes and adjust for preferred level of spice
250g halloumi, cut into slices
2 tablespoons tahini
1 teaspoon sumac
1 tablespoon olive oil
Sea salt
Sprinkle of nigella seeds
Method
Heat a frying pan to a medium to high heat and pan fry the watermelon slices for 3-4 minutes on each side until caramelised. Transfer to a large bowl.
Using a peeler create ribbons lengthways along the cucumber and add to the bowl. Add the mint and parsley leaves as well as the red pepper flakes. Mix everything in the bowl together well and divide between the plates.
Prepare the dressing in a small bowl by mixing the tahini, sumac, pinch salt and 1-2 tablespoons of water to thin to your preferred consistency.
Heat the grill and place the halloumi slices on foil grilling for around 3-4 minutes each side. Place the halloumi on top of the watermelon cucumber mix. Drizzle with the tahini dressing and the olive oil and finish with a sprinkling of nigella seeds and a generous pinch of sea salt.

〰️ In my 20s, I wanted to change my body.
In my 40s, I want to take care of it
We spent years surrounded by messaging that taught women to control and perfect their bodies- and as a former model, that mindset was everywhere- and it was very deeply unhealthy for me. I now sometimes see this creeping into wellness too.
We are told to optimise and perfect everything and somewhere along the way—certainly for me—that stopped feeling like being well. I believe wellness is less about control and more about partnership.
Feeling strong enough to carry life. Mobile enough to move well. Calm enough to think clearly. Energised enough to enjoy the people and experiences I love.
Less punishment. More intelligence. More support— without adding stress.
What are your thoughts?
