Eclipse, Because My Goodness...

Has anyone else felt completely off since it hit? Heavy, unsettled, like the house isn't quite right and you can't put your finger on why.

That's eclipses for you. They shake loose whatever's been sitting quietly in tiny little corners with the dust bunnies.

Sherile, my vedic consultant explained it to me and it's the best way I've ever heard it put, so I'm pinching it.

When the sun and the moon cover each other, the moon takes the sun's energy. Then it goes round the sky and like an eye dropper, gives a drop of energy to each planet as it passes. And every time a planet gets a drop, it wakes up and does its thing!

So it's not like a one hour firework display on the day of the Eclipse, it's a slow trip around the sky, one planet at a time, and each one gives your life a little poke as it gets its turn.

No wonder it's felt like this, it hasn't been one hit, it's been a fortnight of little drops, one after the other, because every planet touches our daily life in a different way.

One looks after how we talk to people. One looks after money, one looks after our sanity, one looks after love, one looks after home, one looks after the stuff we'd rather not think about. So, as the moon goes round handing out its energy drops, a different part of your life gets poked awake each time.

That's why it's felt like it's coming at you from all angles, becausae honestly, it has and turned your life topsy turvy and inside out..

By Friday the moon will have been all the way round, every planet will have had its little zinger, and then the window closes. That's the really important thing I want you to hang onto right now.

It won't all stop dead on Friday though. Things carry on rippling for a while after, just the way water keeps moving long after you've taken your hand out. So don't worry if you wake up Saturday and don't feel like a brand new you. It settles slowly which can take a few hours, a few days, a few weeks, months or even a year if not longer. Each and every single one of us will be affected in different ways.

And so many people have said the same thing to me this week, that this one has dredged up stuff they thought they'd dealt with years ago. Old things, things they'd put away and stopped thinking about.

If that's you, you're in very good company because it did the same for me and the pets too. Trust me, I really didn't appreciate it especially with Samosa and Kajal because they are so sensitive to energy frequencies. So, if your dog, cat, bird, animals are misbehaving or doing something weird, strange or unusual, its all normal and part of the process.

Somebody asks what you want for your birthday and you go completely blank. Not being modest, you genuinely don't have a clue.

So this was part of about 100 seeds I planted last year and honestly, it did nothing except grow a few inches.

Not a single flower, just this sad little short plant that sat in a pot all summer looking a bit sorry for itself, and then I forgot about it.

Well, I broke my wrist this time last year so just left it out there over winter because I couldn't do anything. This year it just kept growing and I had no idea what was going to happen. Initially, I thought it was a w**d and then the little buds showed up and I waited. It went a bit nuts, it's about 4ft tall and covered in these enormous flowers and like a crazy weirdo, I keep going out to have a look at them because they are absolutely gorgeous.

It's a Rose of Sharon, part of the hibiscus family. In the Fall, I will have to transplant it into the ground as the pot is going to be too small for it next year. They can grow into shrubs and trees.

Look at that dark pink in the middle though. I can't get over it. 😄

Has anyone else got something in the garden that's decided to show off this year?

16 years today, Dad. It is hard to believe. But I still feel you right here.

You loved wrestling. Masarji and you would sit to watch, and off you went! Yelling at the telly like the wrestlers could actually hear you. "Hit him! Flip him! Get up, get up!" Both of you on your feet, arms swinging, showing them exactly what to do. Two grown men, jumping about the room, shouting at a screen. Honestly, all five cousins would watch the two of you because it was entertaining, funny and we loved every minute of it. It's what family is all about.

You both were just as enthusiatic on your own but together, it was the main event.

Now the two of you are up there side by side, the best friends that you were. Hulk Hogan also joined you, your all time favourite. I bet the three of you are having an absolute blast.

Your grandkids are growing up so well. Isabella is 16. Shalin is 24. Nikhil is 26. You would be so proud. They are all so kind, funny, generous and loving, just the way you had hoped.

Life is funny, Dad. Mum and you once looked after my brother and I in this very home. Now here we are, looking after Mum. Round we go.

Miss you every day. Keep smiling down on us. We feel your love, always. 💛
