You may have noticed an increase in recent advertising from many Direct Cremation companies appearing on our TVs, and as a Celebrant I am very often asked what's actually involved, who can attend, is it a good thing, how do we grieve etc.

Personally, I am also concerned these adverts "play" on the elderly and vulnerable - and they have a captive audience as such, suggesting a Direct Cremation is best for their family and it will save money, and grief, after their loved one has passed away.

So, along with Michelle Harvey, Gary Valentine and Jeremy West, we are holding a completely free event on the evening of Thursday 19th June, at Chelsfield Lakes Golf Club, along with some industry professions to discuss everything you want to know, with a Q&A after.

What a lovely start to the week - my first service today was at Kemnal Park Cemetery for a lovely man who made the most amazing Lego models - and what a wonderful floral tribute 💙💙

Early morning visit to the cemetery to pay our respects to my wonderful Father-in-law George Richardson who left us 11 years ago today.
