everyone says “your signature series is like your own Netflix show” but realistically what does that meannnnn
I’ve seen so many creators procrastinate their signature series because they haven’t landed on the perfect title or editing style
…but the reality is you don’t know what’s gonna work until you try it! and by “work” I don’t just mean what is well liked I also mean what YOU actually enjoy creating
take it from a recovering perfectionist … get out of your head, follow your joy, and if you can get all 5 of these things in your series, even better xo

what a privilege that we get to wake up and try again!!!

say it with me: it doesn’t need to be perfect it just needs to be now!
if you’ve been procrastinating learning how to yap because face to camera is scary hi me too but I’ve found that having a really solid starting point helps and for me (along with an opening hook) that’s having a visual hook - what I’m realising is that the best yap videos right now aren’t super fancy or have crazy edits, they’re just unexpected and memorable 🩵
hope these help you get out of your own head too xo

it doesn’t have to be the right time it just has to be this time what a concept!!!

if you can yap a mile a minute but you get on mic and every coherent thought flies out of your brain… same girl same
I’ve seen talking videos change so much on this app over the past few years… and they seem to have gotten less scripted but more engaging and “sticky” at the same time which tells me two things:
one: talking to camera is a practice like any other and you can’t get good without putting the reps in
and two: most of the “on the fly” spontaneous videos are planned or scripted, they’re just good at making it like they “just thought of it” so if you have to do more than one take to get it right YOU’RE NOT BAD AT IT you’re just the only one who is seeing the takes no one else does xoxo

so this idea nearly broke my brain and I need you to hear it too
it’s that everyone who has ever had an opinion about you…your choices, your career, your relationships, how you show up, what you post, what you charge, how you mother, how you move… is working with a FRACTION of your story.
a tiny sliver of context filtered through their own experiences, their own wounds, their own idea of who you should be.
only you know the whole book.
and yet most of us hand the pen to everyone else and let them write the ending. we shrink, we over-explain, we edit ourselves down to something more palatable - not because their version of us is true, but because we’ve never fully trusted our own.
people will always view us through their own lens and that’s ok!
but we’re the only one living our life from the inside so we’re actually the best person to make a judgment call on what happens in our life! what a concept
