Lochgelly Albert Colts π Temple Hall
Final Score: 3β3
Today we arrived at Kirkcaldy with plenty of time for a good warm-up ahead of kick-off, giving the boys a great opportunity to get prepared and ready for the game. πͺ
And the rain was something else today! π§οΈ By the end of the game we were all absolutely soaked to the bone, but that didnβt stop the boys from giving everything they had and fighting right until the final whistle.
From kick-off, both sides started strong. We knew we were up against a very physical opponent, but this weekβs training sessions had focused on good passing play and physicality, and the boys put that into practice straight away.
We got an early breakthrough with Lewis β½οΈ finding the back of the net. Shortly after, Cooper β½οΈ found a great opening and finished brilliantly to make it 2β0.
Then came Ellis β½οΈ, who found another chance and put it away β all within the first 10 minutes! π₯
Temple Hall fought back hard and managed to slip three goals past us before half-time, leaving the score 3β3 at the break.
After a great team chat at half-time, the boys came back out strong. πͺ The second half saw a few fouls and a yellow card, along with plenty of chances at both ends, but unfortunately there were no further goals.
The boys fought hard all game. Even when the opposition became really physical and tried to get into our heads, we didnβt let it bring us down. We kept playing our football and battling through, despite the conditions and the rain absolutely hammering down.
Soaked to the bone, tired legs and still fighting right until the final whistle. β€οΈπ€π
It was a fantastic end-to-end game and the boys showed great character, determination and teamwork from start to finish.

β½ Match Report β Lochgelly Albertβs
Today marked our first 11-a-side game of the season, and what a roasting Sunday afternoon it was! βοΈ
We travelled to take on Kirkcaldy FC with a slightly depleted squad due to illness and injury. With just 12 players available, the boys showed fantastic commitment and determination to step up, take on the challenge and give it everything they had.
Todayβs captain was our Super Cooper! π«‘π He led the boys brilliantly and showed great effort and determination throughout the game.
The first half was a slow start for our boys, and Kirkcaldy managed to find the net with a couple of well-placed goals. Our boys battled hard and did everything they could, but Kirkcaldy were the stronger side in the first half. They also had a full bench of substitutes, allowing them to rotate their players and give their boys a much-needed break in the heat.
After a wee word with the coaches at half-time, the boys came out for the second half with a completely different attitude. They really picked themselves up, got stuck into the game and started to show what they can do.
There was a fantastic moment when Sam grabbed his first-ever goal for Lochgelly Albertβs! β½π What a moment for him and the team β congratulations, Sam!
Unfortunately, Kirkcaldy managed to add another couple of goals and ultimately came away with the win. But the scoreline doesn't tell the whole story. The boys kept fighting right until the final whistle, despite the heat, a depleted squad and a tough opposition.
There are certainly a few things for us to work on this week, but as always, we couldn't be prouder of every single one of the boys. They stepped up when things weren't going their way and continued to battle, compete and support each other.
Today was about learning, building and getting that first 11-a-side game under our belts β and there were plenty of positives to take away.
Stay strong, boys. Keep working hard, keep believing and keep pushing each other. πβ½
Lochgelly Albertβs β onwards and upwards! πͺ
