Stomping Ground

Here we go- Last Monday for us until September 14th. Wednesday this week will be our last day before we head off on our road trip to Italy and I can’t blooming wait! Might even bring myself back a fridge magnet to add to the growing collection😉

And speaking of lasts… it’s the final week of the summer hols somehow. Those weeks have flown by in a flurry of iced lattes, exam results and A LOT of sunshine ☀️. So let’s enjoy those final few days before we head off and you start uniform shopping, preparing your big kids for uni or squeezing in a quick summer holiday and I promise, when I get back I’ll put those PSL’s on the menu for you 🍁

In danger of jinxing this however, looks like I have finally managed a full week!! It’s been a testing few weeks but we’ve made it- although as I sit on the sofa writing this post with my cuppa, I am aware that anything could happen between now and opening at 7:30 but I remain hopeful.

So let’s finish the week strong and I’ll break the news about having two weeks off for our summer holiday another time 😉

What’s all this wet stuff falling from the sky? Bit of a change in weather but the sun is making its way back out later this morning and the best bit, cooler temperatures means more doggos and that’s always a bonus!

We’ve got a great selection of cakes including those all important Bakewell ones and also, new on the menu… all butter shortbread (my Kryptonite)!

Despite Melanie Constantinou being run off her feet prepping for Vale Of Glamorgan Show, she still managed to supply us with the yummiest of bakes.

They’re all wrapped up and keeping their cool so you can’t see them on the counter but if you ask nicely, I might part with one😉

Gloria fixed, although it’s going to take me a minute to get my confidence back with her (but that’s on me, not her).

A weekend away with family was just what I needed. Lots of laughs, a cold shower, a banging chilli, a shameful cup of instant coffee, a long downhill walk and an even longer uphill one has left me feeling a lot more positive about the week to come.

So a little update for you all- Gloria is still at the garage but the fault has been found and the parts ordered. Now to get them fitted and get us back to our pitch.
No coffee Monday but we will be back as soon as we can and will of course keep you updated.

Friday update…

Big G still at the garage but the problem has been identified and the parts ordered.
Could be ready for Monday but maybe Tuesday. I’ll keep you updated.

So Monday was a bust, today too and let’s see what the rest of the week has in store.

However, trying to keep as positive as I can and remembering that everything happens for a reason, like Mr P walking the dog at the same time I was about to head to my pitch yesterday and noticing the petrol pouring out of the bottom of the van! Thank goodness, eh!

The hardest part is not being busy. I love my job, the buzz, the hustle and bustle, the bants😉 and of course the coffee. So with unexpected time off I can spiral pretty fast so yesterday I kept busy. I sorted my sock drawer, caught up on all the washing, arranged my jumpers into colour order (don’t, I know🙄), swept the garden, tidied the garage, did some admin and even gave myself a well overdue pedicure (very much needed after the 26 mile hike)!

So today we wait for news on the old girl (I can’t even call her by her name atm) and look for more jobs to keep my mind and body busy.

I’ll keep you all updated on progress as soon as I hear.

Apologies again as I hate to let my regulars down- we will be back fighting as soon as we can.

Major fuel leak this morning so needless to say- NO COFFEE TODAY.

Not sure how but it’s the last Friday in July- how did that happen?!

Friday outlook is sunny with a gentle WNW breeze and temperatures not going above 20°. Perfect weather for a walk with your pooch or your bestie and grab a coffee along the way, (we know the perfect spot😉).
