Hickory Golf Wales

Dave @ Hickory Golf Wales had a wonderful time yesterday at The Hill Dickinson Stadium with Upper Deck Golf. The event was superbly organised and I was well looked after. Here are a couple of photos including a wonderful view of "the course" a very welcome pint after hole 5 and great distant views of The Liver Buildings and an action photo on the nearest to the pin simulator.

Not hickory but a great find. Currently enjoying pitch and putt with a few mates, new to golf, who need wedges. Picked up these for £1.00 each will use wire wool and clean them up and try them out tomorrow

Busy in the workshop today. Just received a nice set of lefthanded irons from the US. Wheatly Hill Golf Club just outside the village of East Willington was incorporated in 1913. Willie Klein was the professional there from 1926 - 1957. Will soak these clubs and use wire wool / WD40 to remove the loose rust. Grips will be cleaned up with saddle soap. The head on the niblick needs repinning and the mashie niblick needs a little work on the shaft. Will be ready to play by Easter.

Interesting Jigger I just picked up. The grip has been squared off and has a nice end cap. The shaft is wooden but as you can see at the end of the hosel it looks like it is coated as some of the coating is coming away. The sole is very broad. Would anyone have an idea on the date this club was manufactured.

Had a wonderful round at Great Orme Golf Robin was working hard rolling the greens. Looking forward to the warmer weather and a sip and put.
