The 9th of October marks our Annual Members Meeting. Please join us at the Linklater Pavilion in Lewes, on the 9th October at 6pm, to commence at 6:15pm

This year we have Roger Ross as our keynote speaker. A man of philanthropy, Roger has been spending his life persuing the aid of environmental and human rights, with the belief that not only are the two simbiotic, but are in fact one in the same.

Following his talk, we will have our annual woodland review, recounting everything that has happened for Laughtonf Greenwood this year.

🐟 A talks programme at All Saints will bring together key organisations and communities acting for the river
🐟 A very special ‘Council of All Beings’ workshop in the Lewes Town Hall Council Chamber will bring the voices of the eel and kingfisher in our democratic forums.
🐟 Britain’s Hidden Fishes film screening at Depot will deep dive below the surface to learn about our incredible fish species and the plight of Ouse fish.
🐟 Community volunteers will be reporting on their year of testing on Glynde Reach - the poorest fairing Ouse tributary.
🐟 On the weekend of 26-27th to tie in with International Rivers Day; the Head of the Ouse boat race, Lewes Rowing Club Open Day and our community fun day full of watery activities, exhibition and river mapping!

Ancient woodlands are the single most biodiverse land-based habitat in England but almost 40% of them have been lost and buried beneath conifer plantations.🌲🚫

Forestry England promised to restore these rare and precious habitats by 2030 – but they’ve already missed the Government’s targets once, and they’re falling behind again.

We can’t let this happen. These forests belong to all of us – and to future generations.💪

Volunteering day and Easter trail at Laughton Greenwood

Join us in the woodland to help create our Easter Trail 🌿🐣

Sunday 29th March 10-3

This is a hands-on, creative day where we’ll be making decorations and installations together, then heading into the woods to build and hang the trail ready for others to enjoy.

Schedule: 10–12 – Art making, create pieces for the trail with wood and willow

12–1 – Bring your own lunch, gather by the fire

1–2 – Hanging the trail in the woodland

2–3 – Games by the Carpenter’s Hut

This is a pay what you can event – free / £5 / £10 depending on what feels right for you.

Come for the whole day or drop in for part of it.
