Last month, I took up the role of Girls’ Development Officer at Castle Donington FC and I have already had the opportunity to coach a couple of players from our U12 girls team.

As a child, I never saw much female representation in the game. I didn’t have many female coaches or role models within any of my clubs to show me what was possible. That’s why it’s something we are so passionate about now.

If we can help even one young girl believe they belong in football and inspire them to keep playing, coaching or getting involved in the game, then we’re doing something right!

Not every young player struggles because of a lack of ability.

Sometimes it’s a lack of confidence.

That’s why our sessions are built around more than just technical development.

We create an environment where players feel comfortable to make mistakes, ask questions, and keep improving without the fear of getting it wrong.

Confidence grows when children feel supported, challenged at the right level, and enjoy what they’re doing.

Living in Canada, Apex client Avi and his family got to attend a World Cup match between Belgium and Egypt that looked incredible. We hope you had an amazing time and enjoyed every second of an unforgettable experience!✨

⚽️ Meet Dexter! ⚽️

Dexter joined us for his very first Apex session this past weekend, and what a brilliant start it was! 🙌

His dad told us that Dexter really wants to play football but lacks confidence when playing with his friends. So for his first session, we focused on the basics, building confidence, and most importantly, enjoying the game.

By the end of the session, Dexter left feeling great about football and is already looking forward to coming back next week! ⚽️

A great session with Notts County’s Hattie and Frankie today⚡️

Hattie is an Apex regular and I had the pleasure of coaching Frankie a few years ago at Peterborough United Development Centre, where she already stood out with her quality on the pitch. It’s fantastic to see her developing so well and doing great things a couple of years on. Moments like this remind you why coaching is so rewarding.
