This logs my attempt raise 50k for Prostate Cancer by beating the Guinness Record for seeing a League match @each ground in the country in the fewest days
So why am I doing this ... there are a few reasons
In no particular order
I need a break from work - I've been at it for 30years - working especially hard over the last 10years at Lloyds Banking Group. I need a break to recharge. a sabbatical is allowed as long as you've been there 5 years - done well - ad have a good reason. I gave 18months notice too. Its a record I used to have - and it'd be
nice to get it back and get in book again. Yeah - someone my break it again - and being totally honest I'd love to have inspired someone else to try to do it. So - if I beat it - and someone wants to break it again - please contact me. Raising money for a charity is something I've seen a lot of people do - and so far it feels good. Prostate Cancer is a great cause and its something all men should be more aware of. Its associated with Football - so its a good fit. I'm really hoping the Charity will get behind my attempt and help me to achieve the target too. Writing a book - about the plan would be great. Its a big ask to write a book - and I need to get a story worth writing too. One step at a time maybe. Reconnecting with people I used to know - and let them slip away is another reason. Working hard has meant my balance of other important things has slipped away. No one ever dies and wishes they'd done more work - and there are so many people I've let slip away. Hopefully this can help to change that a little
Lastly - its about having something else to do and talk about - outside of work. Don't get me wrong - my work is great, stimulating and has stretched me - but no one likes to talk about that too much outside of work
