Skyrac Athletic Club

Good morning

As your all aware now Maria is leaving us next week, we would love it if all athletes past and present could come to the club to say farewell next Thursday 16th of July 🙂

Message from Maria:

Whilst waiting for the England game, I thought it was time to let those that dont know, I will be stepping away from Skyrac in the next two weeks. I have given the past 20yrs voluntary to the club, coach, official, team manager, junior leader and chair. I've had some connection with Skyrac for at least 40yrs 🤪. Its time to take a break. I hopefully will see you in the future at some events. 💚💛 good luck to you all. 😘

Just short of 2 weeks to go till the last Yorkshire district league meeting of the season, this is in Cleethorpes

It would be great to see a full team of athletes in Cleethorpes for the final meet, it has been disappointing to see a lack of athletes wearing their club vest this season, we do expect all athletes we coach to represent their club, we are a competitive club not a fitness club.

Please make sure you confirm your availability over the next week at training so we can get the team together

Memberships- some people have still not joined or renewed, due to insurance reasons we need everyone to be a member, if your not a member you will not be able to continue training with us from august.

Another notice to say we are having a well deserved break over the summer, the first two weeks of the summer holidays we will be off, last session before we break up is Thurs 16th of July and we will return on Tues 4th of Aug.

We will not be holding a summer camp this year due to a lot of changes happening at skyrac over the next month or two, but next year we will be back with summer camp.

Lastly when parents are arriving at training there is a list on the desk please can you all pop on your mobile number, name and email address, this is for the new skyrac what’s app group and monthly new letters that will be starting shortly.

Skyrac kit- please remember all Skyrac kit can be purchased at PC sports yeadon, it would be great to see you in the kit, we have hoodies, jackets, coats, t-shirts and dry robes! A percentage of the sales come back to the club for us to buy new equipment and improve facilities and it’s also supporting a local business.

Just a quick reminder to all athletes that you need to be at the Dorothy Hyman Stadium Barnsley by 10am
Tomorrow for the 2nd Yorkshire district meet of the season.

Please remember a packed lunch, plenty of water, appropriate clothing and suncream it’s meant to be a hot day

Please make sure you have your vest and numbers, to anyone needing a vest I do have some available to purchase on the day

Hope you all have a good nights rest and a safe journey to the stadium

Following on from the success of last years summer camp we are looking at holding this again in the first two weeks of August, who would interested???

Sat 20th of June is the next Yorkshire District track and field meet at the Dorothy Hyman Stadium Barnsley

We need to know by Thursday if you can compete and what events you want to do!
Please let us know at training this week

We are currently standing in 4th team position so we need more athletes to compete for their club to move up the ranking’s!

Also to any athletes who have not renewed their membership you have 2 weeks to do this, if it’s not done we will not be able to allow you to train due to insurance purposes so please make sure this is done asap, we have plenty of forms at the clubhouse.
